Rocka Rolla is a Classic. They were still finding an identity, so I wouldn't count it as not very good, by any means. It was their beginning.Name a more versatile metal band. You CAN'T!!! There's not many metal sub-genres they've NOT touched upon, either by inventing it themselves or years later being influenced by it. There's other non-metal influences in the music as well throughout their career.
18 studio albums of which only 6 are not very good (Rocka Rolla, Turbo, Ram it Down, Demolition, Nostradamus, Redeemer of Souls).
So what other classic metal band has such a high batting average of 0.666 ?
It's actually the first Priest I owned! Cassette!Love Unleashed In The East!!!
Even by the late 70's, no songs from Rocka Rolla survived staying in their setlist. I'd say that's a good indicator it's not a classic.Rocka Rolla is a Classic. They were still finding an identity, so I wouldn't count it as not very good, by any means. It was their beginning.
Yeah, Unleashed in the East is a classic. I remember buying the cassette and riding my bike around my neighborhood with my boombox blasting it so all my neighbor's could enjoy it as well...It's actually the first Priest I owned! Cassette!
Always loved this song, of course there are so many Priest classics and obvious ones but this one sometimes comes under the radar…
I'd venture to say that the definition of a classic is in the ears of the beholder. Maybe not a classic to some but to others yes and that's the beauty of music in general in how it affects you and makes you feel and I think that is something that we all can agree on.Even by the late 70's, no songs from Rocka Rolla survived staying in their setlist.
