Sorry to interupt all the jeuvenile arguing
The only thing that this thread has digressed into is intelligent, respectful debate between two friends. You obviously can't discern the difference between that and "juvenile arguing"...

Steve

two of the most respectful debaters in my opinion. I have never witnessed either stooping down to juvenile dialog even in a shit storm. Good old adult point - counterpoint ;)

They must have added most of his effects at the board. I was standing about 15' directly in front of him during the above performance and heard mostly dry amp tone.

Sounds like it to me Bill. I listened to it on headphones and when he has the massive gobbs of delay you can her one panned stereo L and one R and slightly out of sync for the delay thing (which I hate btw).

I liked the video. But I am a Lynch Fanboi. :D
Wasnt his worse BY FAR! ;)
Looks like he is rocking his New Lynch box amps.
And this pic he is packing the GUNS! :lol: :LOL:

A few random thoughts...

1) "Juvenile"? Hardly... That was one of the most respectable and well articulated differences of opinion that I have seen expressed on this forum. Granted, I have not been around anywhere near as long as Steve or Digi, but I've seen enough posts digress to name calling and questionable behavior to appreciate the ones that don't. Discussions like that are why I like this place.

2) "Hard to listen to"? In my opinion, not at all. Could the effects have been steered in a "less is more" direction? Absolutely. But, George was in Mr. Scary mode. As an 80's relic, I dig that shit...

3) Fingerless gloves... He wears them, he's seemingly always worn them and, quite honestly, if I could pummel a guitar like that, I'd wear what I wanted and wouldn't give a rip about public opinion. On second thought, I hope someone would tell me I looked ridiculous.

4) He doesn't look overly 'roided in that video, but he does look fit. I wish I was that fit (without the use of artificial sweeteners, of course...).

5) Effects added at the board... Is this a "normal" approach? Personally, I'd want to hear exactly what I was playing and hearing nothing but a dry feed would throw me off. Of course, I have no idea what was being fed back through monitors...

6) I clicked on this link because of the thread title. Like a catastrophic car wreck, I couldn't turn away. I was not disappointed.

Just my opinion. Carry on.

I do agree with Bill as well, you can see how Lynch is playing and he is playing dry IMO.

The reason I posted this is that I was glad he was soaked up a tad.....well tad may not be the best word to describe it.........but he was playing well and if you check out this vid you can see he was into it and playing great.

The glove is legit. It is one of George's endorsed products. Especially made for guitar players. Hey, at least he uses them! If you want to shred, you need them: http://www.shredies.com

I'm not reading any further until Kirk Hammett comments on this thread.

gl still has enough ability hinting out here and there that tells me he could possibly regain a good percentage of his 80's chops,

but pretty much everything i've heard in the last 5-7 years or more from him has been one hot mess.

i'm telling you on the under lock and key tour his tone was insane and his chops were at their peak. i loved his soloing and rhythm back then. now he is totally sloppy, his timing sucks, and he's really disorganized with his effects use.

it's just frustrating man--i want him to be the best player he can be.

Bottom Line:

* Lynch is still a Bad-ass player with his own thing going
* Lynch is still relevant
* Lynch still draws a crowd
* Lynch still looks good
* ...Lynch still has chops, tone, and style!

That delay was out of control! I could barely tell what was going on but I like a lot less sauce than you super old 80s bastards! :lol: :LOL: ;)

That had to be added at FOH. No way that was coming out of his cabs and then in the wedges on stage as the drummer would not be able to play to that craziness. :loco:

Oh yeah, and as far as Steve and Scotty go...you guys should take the items in the thread title and get a room! :emofag: :grim:

Sort of off topic but has anyone here actually tried one of these Randall LB103 amps?

:thumbsup: :thumbsup: :thumbsup: I have seen him 3X in the last year or so and he kikced ass everytime!! :rock: :rock: :rock: And I wish I looked that good at my current age and when I am his age. Not a chance!!! :lol: :LOL: :lol: :LOL: :lol: :LOL:

Nobody commented on eddie trunk behind the amps :lol: :LOL:

I heard he has some arthritist issues with his hands now and the gloves help, mostly in cold weather.

Not his worst playing moment, not bad, with my lack of skills who am I to judge :cry:
