I sent it off today to Greg Platzer for repair. Guess it will look really authentic with a repaired crack. Greg at BCR is supposed to be about the best in the biz. I am not sure how it will all play out but I am sure they will make good in the end in some way. What is so disappointing is the piss poor respect in packing this beautiful and insanely expensive guitar. It was in a Warwick Rockcase, which is pretty much ballistic fucking cardboard and has just enough slop in the inside with very little form fit to allow the guitar to move around. There is no extra room at the end of the headstock. If that is not bad enough, it was shipped in the single ply box the case was shipped in. Not a double XX heavy guitar box, but a shitty little cardboard box for an empty case. There was no filler, no end area foam or protection. He might as well have stuck the case in a big paper sack and taped it up. This, is what has pissed me off so bad now. Hell, I wouldn't send a $200 chinese knock off to any of you guys packed this way. How he hasn't lost guitars before me, I have no clue. But, one 2-3 foot bounce off a floor on the headstock end of the case and it would probably snap it. Hell, I am surprised the neck wasn't broken. I had Fedex look at it and they just laughed. Claim denied and you know what - I don't really blame them. But, not sure which leg it would have gotten fucked up on in the shipping.

Had I known this, I would have sent a fucking case, box and packing material to ship in. There was one bright spot in an otherwise fucked up day - got my new ESP black Snakebyte delivered in one piece, in a proper ESP case, in a proper box with proper fucking packing.

We'll see what they are made of now. I hope it turns out well and it should. But, even a replacement takes a while. The neck can be removed, but then it would all have to be stripped and refinished. Another one can be made in about the same time.

Oh, in that picture, the only the holding the headstock on is the truss rod cover. It won't tune for shit either!!! Bad day......first time I had this happen. But, I can see how it happened and there's nobody to blame but the one who packed it.

That really sucks dude!

So, for, what, 10-15k they don't include an ATA case? I would sure as hell hope it was insured!

Greg/BCR was who I was gonna recommend. Glad he's on top of it; I've seen some stuff he's done and you can't even tell it was ever broken. Itll be better than new when he's done with it.

Sorry Steve; worst fuckin NGD ever.

Very sad when people don't pack things the way they should.

Casualty.

Hope it gets fixed well!

Not my movie, but if it was due to piss poor shipping on behalf of the shipper/builder, I'd be sending that thing RIGHT back to him for (a) a full refund, (b) a brand new neck worked back into the guitar as a whole, (c) a new work order with discount for the exact same guitar.

Ugh fuck man that sucks. :(

I can't believe he would pack a guitar worth so much in a terrible case!!! Hopefully this gets resolved, and quickly

Doesn't he charge somewhere around $10,000 for one of those? For that kind of bread he should pack it to the point where a tank could run over it and it would be fine. If he has to charge more for shipping then big deal. Most people spending that kind of money on a guitar would be fine paying extra for extra packaging, I know I would. Its a loooong way from Israel to the US. What a total dumb ass retard..

That is some serious carnage. I got that sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach when I saw that pic, absolutely inexcusable. If someone buys a super expensive guitar, or anything for that matter, the first step is the sale and second is making sure it gets to the customer in perfect condition. I just don't get the rationale of such a poor packing job. I'd have so much bubble wrap on that thing f*cking Meadowlark Lemon would be able to to bounce that shit across the country and it would be flawless when Curly opened it upon arrival.

Sorry to see this Steve, I recently had my first headstock break on a cheap Edwards les Paul and about cried. I had it repaired and all is good but it will never be the same. Also the value of it decreases significantly. Hope this turns out ok for you, such a bummer on a killer guitar.

This seriously makes me sick to my stomach. Sorry Steve......

For the high standards and craftsmanship Gil puts into these guitars the shipping practices should easily match the effort. For the amount you paid this should never have happened. My Anderson guitars are a fraction the cost of the Gil Yaron and I would have been pissed had I received it direct this way. I really hope it works out for you. This is the most excited I have ever seen you about a guitar. I'm a bit heartbroken for you.

Very true. Yes, the smile has been erased and replaced with red ass. I would be pissed at anyone sending me a guitar of any value, packaged like this.

I am not done. First, if Greg gets it fixed satisfactorily, I will decide how much this has devalued the guitar, then go after them for that amount and all the shipping and repair charges and for the new case Greg has ordered for it. If I feel there is a problem with it after repair, I will send it back for refund or full replacement. If they don't play along. Plan C gets real ugly.
