I'm surprised that more people aren't hearing the differences in these two clips

I'm not talking about which is the amp vs modeler (I prefer the Kemper), just the difference in sound....to me the difference is there and obvious....to me the Kemper sounded exactly as it was supposed to....more "refined"

Me too,I also prefer the kemper, but the differences were pretty big

Maybe i was just lucky but i voted amp first after one listening :)

In every clip of the kemper there is this 'middy clarity' thing.Yet i too prefer the kemper sound ;)

Yeah, I think it's pretty drastic. Not good or bad, but like I said I think I'd go for something in-between the two. lol

Some of you Guys must have much better ears cause while I hear a small difference I wouldn't personally call it dramatic. Dramatic difference I don't think would make 50% of people not guess correctly. listening on both my studio monitors and computer speakers I hear a very su toe difference and I think that is partly from the process and partly from my slight refinIng. either way I am cool with what the kemper has recorded and I can further tweak it later which is a good thing. I can't always turn up my amps so this is a very nice convenience

Oh dude...don't get me wrong....I think it's great...as I said, I actually PREFER the Kemper, so definitely not intended as a comment on the unit or process....

I'm just surprised that people are saying the difference in sound is too close to call...there's definitely a difference, and I'm far from having "golden ears".

As stated, I think it's the same type of thing I dug about the Axe...start with something cool, and refine it...works for me

wow I actually preferred the Kemper ..and thats what intresting here a lot of people are liking the Kemper better

Yeah I think that has a little to do with what I changed in the refining, I forget what it was I was changing but it had something to do with bias or power amp setting etc. But also it may be because the kempers sonic limitations did in fact imrprove and refine what the mic heard on this particuliar clip, where as it may not do it for the better on another, who knows, either way its pretty cool that it can pretty much duplicate what it hears. and another thing to consider is the additional conversation step and they were actually using different Converters after as well. The mics were going into pro tools from an M-audio 2626, and the kemper was recorded out of that interface, then back into pro tools using my yamaha's o1v96 converters. Dang the more I think about this, the less scientific this was. ha sowry.

Exactly. I hear a difference between the two clips. But like I said in my first post, they are both real sounding amps to me. Neither one sounds artificial AT ALL. This KPA is just sounding amazing so far. I'm kind of glad I don't really have a use for it because I can't afford it.

At the volume I listened at, couldn't really tell a difference here...will listen louder later..can't say which clip actually liked....both sounded muffled but that could be volume of course.

Me too. I thought the one with more sizzle and clarity on the top end was the original, but I was wrong.
Original amp sounds like ass IMO.

haha Well it was played with a darker sounding guitar, not bright like a strat or tele. I tend to like darker sounding stuff, cause after its all mixed in its easier to add eq, and once you get overall eq, it usually sits about right for me. Plus channel 3 is a bit congested on this amp. But really I am not trying to say love this tone, more like here is what the kemper can do. I can dial in more presence and treble later

Well I know you understand that I'm commenting on my opinion of the tone and not on yourself as a player or as a person.... I would not have been as honest with other people but in reading your posts and enjoying most of your clips, I get the feeling you are mature enough to know that, unlike some others that post stuff....
Anyways my point is that the Kemper tone is much better.

ha no its all good man. I only have a 2x12 here with a terrible speaker matchup for the amp, and inside the kemper I was able to pair it with another cab and think it sounds much better then my cab did. I did this last night after my ears were shot, listening back today I kinda agree, tone is ass. haha

I would say the first could be brighter, but I do prefer it over the second. It sounds a bit more organic. The Kemper does sound great though.

Oh, and glad to see your threads getting some love.
