Do you have a MixControl software for your card? Or something like it? Set your 'Sync Source' to external. I've never used your particular card but it should be pretty similar to my RME or any other card for that matter

OK..sync source is set to spdif...still not getting anything...no sound or feedback...just the original dry track playing

Have you added another track and set it to spdif in? And set the dry track to spdif out?

I Thought I did...but nothing. New track input is set to stereo spdif L and spdif R.

Dry track is set to to the same but output

hmmm, I'm not familiar with Reaper either damnit. Can you ouput that dry track to your new audio track?

I'm not seeing a signal coming through to the new track...and for some reason, reaper and mixcontrol are locking up now...even after a complete reboot.

When you get it back up, check tracks 5 and 6, this should be the output of the Kemper. Arm them and see what happens.

Sorry, I said tracks 5 and 6 I meant inputs 5 and 6. Check that your new track has input 5 or 6.

where am I looking for that??

Right click on Arm/Disarm and select either stereo spdif input 5 or 6 or mono input 5 or 6. Try em all til you get sound...

I've done that countless times...there's no 5 or 6 anywhere listed. I'm sure something just isn't set right whether it be the routing matrix, mixcontrol, or what not...

I'm out of ideas man, I'm sorry :( If I had any of the things you had besides the KPA, I'd be a better help

...you said you've clicked on the monitor button right?

I appreciate you trying...I've asked on the reaper forum, kpa forum and here...no luck anywhere.

I really thing it's something stupid that's not set right. I'm confused as to what to set the inputs and outputs to for each track and also what to set correctly in the matrix and mixcontrol.

You mean the monitor input when I right click on the record arm? Those are off...turning them on does nothing.

edit: in mixcontrol, the spdif output 1 and 2 or set to off...,I've tried changing them to other things but that does nothing. Monitor output 1 is set to mix 1 and monitor output 2 is set to mix 2.

The input for both tracks is set to input stereo-spdif L, spdif R

The dry trackis soloed while the new track is muted as instructed earlier in this thread. Changing them does nothing.

I got it to work on mine. Couple of things I had to do:

1) click the input button on the kemper, and make sure spdif input is checked.
2) on my reamp track I had to click on the I/O and added a new hardward OUTPUT to digital L/R (for stereo)
3) made a new track in reaper and the INPUT on it was set to digital L/R

Arm the new track in reaper for recording, MUTE the other tracks or SOLO the reamp track, and be sure that record monitoring isn't on. You should see activity on your recording window (where it shows the waveforms). I couldn't monitor in real time because my SPDIF device isn't what my monitoring system is hooked up to. But I could do it analog just as easily by routing manually what was set up digitally above.

This is pretty much what I've done with no luck except instead of digital L/R, mine says spoof L/R. I'll have to try again tomorrow.
