Maybe they need a "phase" of caring about actually creating music too?

If my time on RT has taught me anything, it's that 80% of gear and chops is to pretend to be Von Gaylen in madison square basement and spend a fucking shitload of money on gear that you can't get the most out of because you aren't very good (and then pretend it's the gears fault, and sell it in the classifieds a week later)
