you know good tone man, im a little surprised youre so enamored with this one. like i said it in no way sounds bad, it sounds really good but the guitars just arent that close to the album to me. i would think if someone was going to do a meticulous recreation of that album some sort of mark would be the first thing to get. theres plenty of guys here with marks that have all but nailed that tone that if you put in this mix i think would sound much closer. this to me just sounds like a good cover with someone using a recto

As much as I wish I could say I mixed this, I didn’t, sooooo probably not getting the tracks. I’m laughing because it’s just a small minded approach, that’s all. All you’re talking about are the guitars. Could they, by themselves be made to sound better? Sure, absolutely. But it would throw off everything else and how they sit etc. what you’re saying is that you could mix it better, which is why I was laughing, because I highly, highly doubt that.

I get what you’re saying! I think I’m more enamored with the entire process and the production really. The meticulous detail to how accurate all the parts are played, the reverbs and how everything sits much like the original, the stereo image specifically etc. That to me is pretty sick and Impressive. I agree the guitars aren’t nearly as close, but the drums snd vox especially are ridiculous. Like I said above, I think it’s one thing to get the guitars close by themselves, it’s another to get them to sit right and blend with everything else, with everything else being pretty damn close to the original tone wise, if that makes sense.

I didn’t put words in your mouth, you aren’t understanding what I’m saying. You can’t just “make the guitars sound closer” so to speak and just throw them back in the mix and expect everything to sound the same, that is literally my point, that’s all. So while yes maybe you could “ make the guitars sound better”, I couldn’t care less if the entire mix isn’t as good.

Nice try? You’re the one who thinks someone can just “send over tracks” and let you remix some guitars. You can’t do it, if you can, YOU track the song yourself, or YOU email mark or the band and ask for the tracks. Why would I do that for you when YOU are the one who won’t shut up about this? Be a man and call and tell the band or mark how you feel yourself, and then show them, don’t ask others to do it for you. You think I’m strange for saying that? You are the one on a guitar forum flexing your chest to get some tracks that you think people just hand over.
