Built these for inventory and will get them up at http://www.savagewoodworks.com in the next day or so. It's time to focus on another product line so with the exception of custom orders, these are the last two inventory pieces for a while.

The Red Birch is beautiful but will be the last one I make. had a plank laying around for a while and decided to try it out, but it's just too prone to chipout/tearout. I'll be selling this one at a discounted rate because there's a small amount of tear at the joints on the left side.

I've been wanting to do a Walnut board so pulled some figured Walnut from stock. Really like how this one looks and Walnut carves like stone. Very nice.

That looks amazing!!! I'm really impressed with your work, Bob!

Thanks dudes... by the way, tooting my own horn, but do you notice how the grain pattern connects around the panels? I'm not messin' around here... ;)

Would be even more OCDish if you did finger joints. ;)

That first one is your best looking board to date. Maybe the best looking board I've seen anywhere.

Meh, dovetails. ;) I love the look of them and was cutting dovetails when I was making head cabs but don't think they're worth the effort for these, considering joint strength is not a factor. Outside of the glue up for the dado-rabbets, which by the way I use the sizing technique (pre-apply glue to the grain and continue it until it stops drinking) to make sure the end grain doesn't absorb all the glue, the cross members have 1/2" dados that are also glued. If you break one of these it's probably because you tried to.

Thanks Pete!

From the title, I thought you were announcing that you weren't going to hang out on the forum for a while and it made me sad. I would miss your snarkiness :D

P.S. Props on the attention to detail in your board builds. Quality stuff...

Yes! The first thing I noticed! It even gets me excited! lol
Great work again!

Damn, we may have to talk about that walnut board...it would look great paired up with the walnut head cab on my Trainwreck

Ha! Well I'm just glad that someone other than myself enjoys my snarkiness.

It might be better to build another one because that cab looks like it may have wiped with pigmented tung oil before it was finished. Would need to see more pics. Beautiful cab dude.

Damn, Bob! If the shipping wouldn't cost INSANE, I'd love a headshell for my Randall in those colors :)

Yeah, shipping overseas can be ridiculous. So far I think Australia was the worst I've dealt with due to package size limitations.

Which one do you like the colors of?

By the way... anybody wondering, the Red Birch board is sold. Walnut's still available.

Thanks guys.

Apparently these two are a hit because the Red Birch board is sold and I've got about 5 people thinking about buying the Walnut board.

Just incredible!! TALENT!!!!!

Thanks bud.

It's funny how sometimes the simplest things remind me of how cool working with a CNC is. I'm about to resurface my spoilboard and install a grid of t-channels for jigging and hold down instead of using the primitive screw hold down system I've been embracing for so long, so last night I drew up some hold down clamps and basic jigging fixtures and cut them from 5/4 hard Maple.

For some reason, this just really made me smile being able to efficiently design and cut my own hold down tools.
