Well, hands down, the most versatile is the JVM. It will cover a lot of ground, has great cleans. For pure rock and roll tones, I kinda lean towards JMP's, or JCM 800's, For vintage cleans, hmmmm...... I never got them for that, but I kinda like the DSL pulled back a little, If there can only be one, and you need good chimey cleans, and a hi-gain lead channel, I would lean towards a JVM 210, if you want a 2 channel, if you need an array of good in-between tones, get the 410. I have a 410, and I have been pretty surprised after spending some time with it, at first, I was not really that impressed, But after tweaking it for awhile, I keep coming back to it, and I have quite a few piled up in there. Is it the best sounding marshall ever? No, But its very good, although a little compressed under heavy gain, and it has a TON of gain. I was assuming we were talking about buying new?
