The first Candlebox album has the best recorded drum tones of any rock album...

The drums on that album do sound killer. That whole album, regardless of whether one likes the music or not, sounds great.
Fucking killer album. One of the few that I can roll without skipping a song. The ones that I don't like as much as the rest just let me relax my air guitar muscles for the next one

As a song writing duo, Bernie Taupin and Elton John put Lennon and McCartney to shame...

Joe B. ... I don't get the hate. He's earned his dues, surrounds himself with great musicians and throws down every damn time he performs. He can write, sing and rapes every guitar he picks up. We should all be so talented...

I love 'Big Beat' Techno music. I don't care that it sounds like it was created by robots from another planet and has no guitar or even strong structure. A lot of it just has an energy I get into sometimes.

Gibson's 2016/17 Les Paul Standard High Performance, with its shaved neck heel, titanium upgrades, and "robot tuners", is the best Les Paul that Gibson has ever made.

- No I wont sell all my amps and "just buy a kemper"
- I like "hardstyle" dance music, their forums aren't dissimilar to ours, they show off their outboard analogue gear and argue about kicks and synth sounds.
- It doesn't matter what guitar you plug into Guitar VST Amp Sims, a chinese squire will sound the same as high end strat, it all ends up a digital fizzy mess.
- Heavy strings don't make you more of a man than my 8s, it also wont make your dick bigger
- I disslike all Gretschs, too big, too heavy, not comfortable, not easy to play, looks dumb on stage, few people with a Gretsch have any stage presence as the thing is always in the way
- Mr.Mister are extremely under-rated, very tight live, strong song writing, talented musicians
- I like Yngwie, alot

Led Zeppelin I-Physical Graffiti is one of the best record streaks of all time. Crap after that

Scorpions should've died when Roth left.

I hate 98% of the 80's metal scene. Tears for Fears was better.

Master of Puppets should've been the last Metallica album.

Butler was the most talented musician in Black Sabbath.

Dio is not god.

As much as I occasionally listen to Nirvana; Cobain (and Dimebag... and Randy...) are only given god status becuse they died. If they were alive they'd be druggie burnouts by now that couldn't catch a gig to save their life (*cough cough* Jaco)

Randy's tone was garbage. Always was.

I like Don Henley and Joe Walsh much better outside of the Eagles.

Gilmour knows how to bend a string. But still overrated.

The Marhsall RI's in stock format are crap. The treble will slice your head off before you ever get above 2 on the volume.

I don't think Kiss should've ever been signed.

Kemper and AXFX or whatever, they don't do anything for me. Give me a proper ceriatone RI plexi or dual terror and I'll get better tone.

A good Les Paul can't be beat. Now, they are few and far between, but DON'T LET GO IF YOU GET ONE.

Mustaine = :doh:

I love Lana Del Rey and Lorde. The "Born To Die" album has some of the best vocals of all time in my opinion.

The Edge has never excited me.

50's wiring and low output PU's, that's where it's at.

The 498t/496r or whatever set is in the LP custom's are crap.

The Danelectro reissues (~$400) are awesome. Add an 0R15 and a 2x12 =

EVH posers, you aren't impressing anyone.

"Superstrats" :bleh: :bleh:

Dirty clean (i.e. cranked JTM45 with fuzzface, crybaby, and echoplex) is far superior to high gain.

Matamp and ElectricAmp has the sexxiest looking heads. Picture frame with large chassis :inlove: 4-holer's are a close second

Deftones is another way of saying "Tone Deaf". Good god, no one likes that washed out reverbed chugga chugga

Yello was one of the best groups of the 80's.

Active pickups don't impress me.

Uncovered humbuckers look much better.

Signature and relic'd gear is NOT cool. VOS is cool. -er.

There is absolutely no point in trying to protect your gear from nicks and scratches if you love it and USE IT.

Pointy guitars are stupid. Explorers are ok though...

Wes Borland wasn't able to reach his potential in a vessel like Limp Bizkit.

I never understand The Who.

The chord progression in "I'd Love To Change The World" is superior to "Staiway To Heaven".

New SG's and the LP studio faded have more value per dollar than %98 of the new LP standards and customs.

i agree with most

  • I like van hagar just as much as VH with DLR..
  • Most LP's suck

Agree, Hagar was a singer, DLR was a showman and when listening to music I can't see the singer so Ill stick with Hagar haha

- people who complain about moving 412 cabs. There's a place call the gym. They have weights. Lift them.
- 70s era Kiss was awesome. After that, not much so.
- your band sucks because of your singer
- your band playing in front of 20 drunk dudes playing pool isn't really a gig
- Nobody really likes Mayones guitars except FourT6and2. I only see brand new ones in mint condition for sale in the classifieds. (I still want one though  )
- Internet tough guys are scary :lame:

I prefer my old JCM 2000 DSL 100 to my JCM 800 2203
Holcomb is way better than Misha in Periphery
I enjoy a good pop punk record
I hate Rob Chapman's videos on YouTube
Ryan Bruce and Ola Englund have the same tone on everything they play
I'll take a real amp over an AxeFX any day
The 6505 sounds better than most high dollar amps no matter what any chode at a boutique music store tries to tell you
August Burns Red is overrated
Radio rock is catchy

This, all the way.

These never fail to impress me. For anybody saying they "needz the moar gain dudee", if you can't get it with a 6505 then you're doing something wrong.

70's and 80's rock had the best musicians and song writers

Cables matter

Devin Townsend is overated

Bluegrass shreds

Nothing will ever beat tubes---fact

No guitar will ever sound better than a good LP---fact

Tape will always sound better than digital

Eddies tone was always average

Hendrix only had originality, not skill

Eddie has both

The Black album was the best all around

The Music world could have done without the 90's, except for maybe the Black album and AIC (Though Shania Twain was pretty hot)

Speakers matter, cabs don't. You're the only one in the venue that knows you're playing through a solid birch cab from the 70's.

Rethink your life if you can't get a good tone from a DSL or EVH.

Machine Head have the greatest recorded metal tone of all time.... And it's a 5150

AC/DC's bass player sucks.

The whole band sucks. They've been playing and writing the same fucking songs for over 30 years.

Anyway...

Hubert Sumlin was better than Clapton.

Son House was better than Hubert and Clapton put together.

Buddy Guy still kicks all the blues ass when he feels like it.

I've listened to the new Metallica tune about 6 more times since I last posted ITT. It's fuckin WORSE.

Rob Zombie sucks. As a musician, director and writer. Nothing he's done or is ever going to do is going to change my mind. This low budget horror bullshit is just weak. Also? Stop putting your wife in everything cause she sucks worse than you do and she ain't fine enough to be onscreen, no matter what she tells you.

People that don't like Deftones make me a little sick....to me it's like they don't like music...

Tantric had some good tunes.

Beyoncé can sing her fine ass off.

I dig a lot of rap, and have since LL Cool J...DMX, Jay Z, 2Pac, NWA and Eazy get regular airplay in the car and doing shit around the house.

I like Pink. A lot. As a consequence, I like Justin Derrico a lot too.

KSE was way more brutal with Jesse.

I liked Devil Without A Cause. I played that shit nonstop for like 2 straight months cause I thought it was funnier than shit.

Chad Gray is a badass vocalist and I always really liked Lost and Found.

David Draiman has a perfect voice for rock music.

Tool can blow me. I'm done waiting, it's been 10 fucking years. The next album could be the next coming of Jesus Christ and I'll never know because I'll never listen to the motherfucker. After 10 years how could it be anything BUT a letdown?

Speaking of Tool, I think Chancellor is a lot more talented than Jones is.

As a recent convert, I get why modeling is a popular as it is. I do...but nothing sounds the same as a cranked tube amp thru an SM57. It's just better.

SD-1s kick the shit out of most boutique ODs/distortion pedals.

Teles rule thru Rectos, 5150s and Fryettes for metal.

PRSi can play metal.

Shakira can sing her fuckin ass off.

JLO has some good tunes too.

Line6 makes some good products. I can walk into a GC and line a guitar into a fuckin 30w Spider and draw a crowd asking me how I get those tones.

Agile makes decent guitars that punch way above their cost.

I like the MIJ EVH Stealths better than the USA versions.

Two Notes stuff all has a weird bump in the mids.

Diezels are not fun amps to play.

7 string KxKs kick all ass.

Rockinchippy has a cool FB forum.

The Jackson Misha Mansoor 6 string sig guitars are seriously badass.

$10,000/$15,000/$20,000 for a Blackmachine is LUDICROUS. I don't give a fuck how 'good' it's supposed to be. For $20,000 it better play itself while being a better player than me and concurrently sucking my dick.

Suicidal Tendencies was better than most bands that everyone listened to in the 80s and 90s.

Following the last one, I'm REALLY excited to hear Dave Lombardo in Suicidal.

Rick Toone makes interesting looking guitars but charges way too much for them.

Guys that work for guitar companies should be banned from posting on guitar forums. Fuck you, assholes. We get it....your shit is 'the best'.

Also, guys that are dealers for guitar companies should be forced to own up to that fact when they're pimping whatever flavor of the week they're on about. Looking at you, Kiesel. Looking at YOU, Wired Guitarist.

Finally. Regardless of the fact that you think it shouldn't have happened, metal got segregated. It was a natural progression and was going to happen no matter what you thought, and the new categories are a direct result of the shit you listened to......because the guys doing the new shit ARE YOUR EXACT AGE, DICKHEAD. If you don't know this or know the categories? You're old and it doesn't matter. Keep listening to Randy and Dokken.

If you think a DSL or an EVH sounds better than an 800 and a pedal, you have no ear for tone.

Cmon, its 6 knobs. Dial them until you figure it out. You can do it.

I guess you're referring to my last thought on my post. Re-read it, nothing was mentioned about what's "better".
