Lockdown gear binge

I bought two new Taylor acoustics, a Friedman SS 4X12 cab, and bought/sold/traded 7 different pedals.

Not too much, I spent around $3,000.00 and worth every penny. I bought three Boogie pre amps, a Quad (Reverb $450.00) and a TriAxis (Craigslist $675.00) and a Rectifier Recording pre amp (eBay $630.00) I bought two power amps, both Boogie, a Strategy 400 (eBay $426.00) and a 50/50 (Reverb $450.00) . I also bought a Voodoo lab GCX (Reverb $175.00) and GC Pro (Reverb $115.00) to control everything.

This afternoon I bought another Tom Anderson H3+ pick-up (Reverb $92.00) for my Jackson RR. I took the one out of it to put into the guitar in the picture. Every other pick-up pales in comparison for metal at the highest gain possible before mush sets in. I only care about gain an how to get more because more is more until it's less. It's a fine line...... (Yes, yes I have been down the active EMG road)

I sent the Quad and 400 in to the shop to get new stuff like caps and tubes so it will be like new. I've really been enjoying the TriAxis and 50/50 which has MESA 415 tubes in it.

I found an amp I wanted to buy. It was advertised as a Boogie Mark IIC+ SRG but it was a C- so I messaged the guy and he relisted it for $2,000.00 and it fucking sold in an instant!! I mean minutes later.

I'm trying to get rid of stuff. I've only bought software, as it doesn't take up any space.

ah man I just got a Keeley's Cavern pedal last week. I'm really digging it. I have a MXR Carbon Copy and a EQD's Dispatch Master so one of those two will probably bite the dust. The Keeley will stay.

Awesome!! Yeah man a lot of fun using the looper function!

I was just excited my 70 year old Mom got me a Keeley pedal. LOL! She obviously knows who he is since we graduated together but my Mom doesn't know anything about pedals. The fact she wanted to get that for me for my birthday was awesome. Should get it today!

You bastard. I was going to buy that Friedman SS 4x12. I saw it on Craigslist. LOL! Dude, if I had a truck that thing would have been gone in minutes. I didn't know how to fit it in my Honda Accord unless I took it apart.....

I’ve bought a Mark IV, G Triple Rec, F Dual Rec, Mesa Traditional 4x12, 4 speakers, and many tubes! And I’ve sold enough shit to pay for it all. Gearwise, I’ve been having a great time during this lockdown. And it’s keeping me from going “The Shining” on my family, which is nice!

Triple Rev F for me.....

Amazeballs.
I can imagine. I LOVE the voicing of my F Dual. That F Trlple’s gotta be a destroyer of worlds.

Believe it or not, the cab fit into the backseat of a Chevy Malibu! It was close but it worked. Was able to squeeze a Marshall Mode Four oversized cab in that backseat as well. That one was really tight.

I really like the SS 4x12. My other cab is a 1960B with greenbacks. The SS is bigger sounding but I still like the all greenback loaded cab as well. Both have their place and will hang around for a while.

Anybody else buy too much stuff they didnt need on lockdown? Downsizing is definitely in my near future

Luckily I was still working but since all of my travel expenses disappeared I took advantage...

Bought myself a Presonus Studio 1824C, Presonus Digimax D8, ART 16ch XLR Patch Bay, Kali Audio LP8s, a pair of 27" ACER Slim Bezel screens, 2 more SM57s, 3 AT2020s and a set of Shure Drum Mics for my studio setup, then grabbed an AVATAR 4x10 cabinet, GK 1001RB head and a Schecter 5 string.

So much for saving money

How do you like the 1824C?

I was looking at the Studio192 for when I eventually replace my Tascam.

Damn.. An Engl Artist, ESP '87 Mirage, ESP AS-1FR Skolnick, a Buxom Boost, Gibson Explorer, Sterling JP100D, other pedals..

Didn't keep some pedals, the Explorer, or the Sterling. That Sterling was badass though, if it stayed in tune!

Right now I have it into 1 side of my Recto cab, and my Coliseum into the other. The clarity of the C+ is being pushed by the clarity of the F Triple. I've never said that about any other amp not named Wizard. I've had 2 other G Triples; one was amazing and one was average, probably in need of a service. But the G I had, as good as it was when I A/Bd it with the C+ I had at the time, it didn't even compare in the clarity dept. This F is on a whole other level. Brighter and tighter, with amazing clarity.
Love it.

Not saying it equals the Coli...but the clarity of the Triple F is damn close. But the Coli is a beast that isn't surpassed by anything, as a whole. But the Triple F is WAY better than any other Recto that I've played..like it's been modded by someone to be better. And it's totally stock. There is some serious mojo to those F Triples.

C+ Coliseum is still king brother Ted.

Whew lol thought you got in the car and took a frightening trip to crazy town...seems like everyone else has. Man you had me worried brother!!!! That must be one helluva amp, congrats? I can imagine the sonic wall of tone from those two in play in a stereo split for the title?

Yeah, I was surprised that the clarity actually came very close to the Coli. I had a really good Rev G triple..I set the C++ I had up with the Triple through the same cab stereo like I did with the F and the Coli, and the G was nowhere near the same clarity. Still a great amp though..but the F is clearly a step above.

It's almost like a modded SLO with a boost in front..but much better/tighter low end. I could never hear much similarity with any Dual Rec I've played, to any SLO tone..but I definitely can with this Triple.
