I've got a Duncan Cool Rails, they are hotter than stk, but not too much, they are quiet, and still sound like a SC
And they are cheap, compared to some others out there
My favorite single coils for blues are the Lindy Fralin Blues Specials, and the Suhr FL's. You really can't go wrong with either set. Very punchy, slightly overwound, big percussive tone with no shrill highs. And they're not expensive! The Fender Custom Shop 69's mentioned are pretty cool too, they just lack a little bit of the nice mids the others have....at least in my opinion. For noiseless the DiMarzio Area series are good, and the Kinmans are great. But they are still one notch under the Fralins and Suhrs I mentioned. Just my two cents!
Rocketfire 60's. Every position is great. They've been in my Strat for years now.
When others play the guitar they ask about the pickups and order a set.
Well, in the meantime, I popped in my old Dimarzio HS-3's from the mid 1980's and forgot how damn good they sound. Just like I remember...full on Yngwie It's been too long since I had a good guitar with single coils (or stacked single coils ). My objective is to play blues, not Yngwie
Actually those pickups are really low output they are really good for blues. I like HS-2 a little better. Yeah Yngwie uses them but that doesn't mean they're are suited for that genre and not others...
Another vote for the Fralin Vintage Hots. Lindy will wind you basically whatever you want...I had my set done with a brass plate and 15% overwind on the bridge pickup and a rw middle...best single coils I have played.
Kinman makes some nice pickups too...I've played/heard them but never actually owned a set though.
