You make a good point. What you're saying is the reason I'm trying to gather as much information as I can before I drop some coin on some new speakers. Then again, I won't know if I prefer different speakers until I actually try them in a live situation.

Bottom line - I want cut, and I want less harshness in the upper-mids.
Got it. Sounds to me like Celestion Golds are what you want...in my experience they're an ideal speaker in a 2x12 for cutting, yet smooth and pleasant high/high-mids.

I mix them w/H30's live with great results
