This thing sounds pretty fucking great. It definitely nails "that" tone, big shocker. but, it sounds great doing the heavys. There's no EQ on this other than a high or low pass. Hell this is about as close to that sound as you can get: A neural emulation of a Neve 8078 from the actual board dookie was recorded on is on each guitar track, billy joes Super Bowl settings were used on the amp (no idea why people care about this, but whatever) and an era accurate Marshall 1960BV with a 57/421 combo was used for the IR.

and then for the second clip, I used all the same stuff, but used more gain, and a pedal upfront. just shows you how much of "tone" is in the playing and attitude. the 2 tracks sound nothing alike, yet use the same signal chain more or less. anyways, enjoy!

Oh no, you played When I Come Around a half step higher than normal. Bothers my Perfect Pitch OCD. Kidding aside, it sounds great and glad you are happy with it. 2nd clip definitely shows the amp has a lot of gain.

haha did I?! well, the only guitar that I thought would be "close" for that was my 1987 Jackson USA custom shop SL2 with a......you know what, I dont even know what Seymour Duncan is in the bridge.....but yea anyways, its in C sharp at the moment, so I had to guess! damnit!

also I didn't buy one haha, this is a NAM A2 capture however, which is about as indistinguishable from the real thing as I've heard to date. A2 architecture is incredible, I mean just absolutely insane that we can get these tones and this feel of the real thing for free.

Completely indistinguishable from the original to my ear 🤷

Guess that nam capture saved you four grand

It's pretty insane. I mean I know what that mod "feels" like under my fingers, as a good friend of mine has a true Martin SE crunch mod on a plexiglass and 2203, as well as a the SE lead mod. It's that sound and feel to the T. like not almost, not kind of. its that feel and sound 100 percent. fucking wild times man.

What's insane to me is all this stuff is just freely available and no one makes any new original music with it 🤷

Ha, this thing sounds awesome.

Reminds me of years ago when I posted an Orange clip and had guys sending me PMs asking for settings and it was a clip from Bias on my IPad.

Shit sounds great man.

Now we are talking. I totally agree. I wish I had the time or drive to write like I used to. The time I do have is spent mostly in pro audio in general, not so much writing anymore. And it’s totally true, the music sucks now more than ever, everyone’s using the same shit and afraid to push the boundaries on anything these days. Incredibly ironic.

Yep that's the crazy part to me

Imagine 20 years ago telling your homies in punk bands "oh yeah man you can record with the literal exact dookie tone for literally free"

Everyone would have shit their bondage pants

The tracks sounded good! I have a '95 SLP with the mod done, been trying to actually settle in and get stuff recorded with it and some blends with other amps. Hopefully will have something in the future.

Killer! Put that thing to use, making music!

I think NAM A2 is the best sounding digital thing currently.

I am in the process of making hundreds of captures of all my amps.
