Fun song to mix, the guitars came out great to me. Kick is alittle hot but dropped about 2db would probably be perfect. Outside guitars are Herbert, inside are the driftwood purple nightmare. Mix has alot of metricHalo channelstrip on it for EQ and compression. No saturation or any of that nonsense. Solo is EVH 5153, enjoy!

New version, less kick! No strokes for at @japetus anymore :D

Brighter and tighter mix:

Killer, i gotta check out the metrichalo channelstrip

I'd love to hear this with the kick turned down to see how everything balances out, but the guitars sound great

I uploaded a new version right after you posted this actually, I cleaned up the overheads a bit and forgot to put that one up. But the kick was so low before, might have gone too much but hey, it’s fun 😂

Also, MH CS is just so good. I can’t explain it, but everyone who uses it swears by it. It’s just a basic decently clean digital eq, but it does exactly what you want it to, and the big thing is it doesn’t kill punch when cutting low mids etc. the comp is amazing, the gate is great, it just works and sounds better than just about anything to me. Newer isn’t always better in the recording world even on the digital side that’s for sure. Also, it has the best low end of any plugin I’ve ever used when boosting etc.

I know how it goes man :hys:

I've been messing around with diezel profiles trying to mix them with other amps trying to get a specific je nais se quois crunch, and it's interesting to hear you messing around with the same sort of thing

This type of stuff of course it’s easy just to slap a 5150 on it but I was purposefully trying to avoid that and get something cool. Midrange on them is really cool, very “German”, imagine that ha. The Herbert mixes well with other stuff I think very well, it really just of course depends on the cab and mic selection to get what you want to blend with another amp if that’s what you’re going for.

BTW, I definitely have an eye on that new driftwood that came out, seems killer.

That bass drum tone just made me have a fucking stroke. Guitars sound great though.

That’s how you know it’s good! Haha 😂 I’m putting up a version where I dropped it 4db, seemed to do the trick.
