Matchbox 20's first album

Incubus was good in the 90s too. SCIENCE and Make Yourself were great records.

I never got into them, but I've got a few friends who really like early Incubus. Usual rotation while driving around in circles. :lol: :LOL:

+1. S.C.I.E.N.C.E. Is still a favorite of mine to throw in the CD player. Another semi-funky 90's CD I loved was Jimmie's Chicken Shack's Pushing The Salmonella Envelope.
 
I had a thing against MB20 when they first came out, because it wasn't a real "band", or so I read. I heard that Rob got signed, and they found the band members for him. I also heard he had a lot of professional songwriting help too. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong...

Listening back now, I can appreciate the first MB20 cd a lot more now. And I really like the songs. Super catchy and some great tones too.

But for me, the first 3EB cd will always top it in tones, songs, and overall creativity. Kevin Cadogan's open tunings and chord voicings were genius.
 
I used to catch so much shit for liking the first 3EB CD, it's weird being on a guitar forum where I wasn't derided for revealing that. :D

Everclear's Sparkle And Fade is another one that seemed to bring the flame, too. Still love that one, as well.
 
I'm pretty much a straight up metalhead and I dig the first disc by MB20 and TEB. Good stuff.

Also, Mustaine is a tool.
 
I will say that Rob Thomas's vocal delivery is top notch. Very passionate and intense.
 
In the days of Grunge....Matchbox 20 was a breath of Fresh air.
Liked it....bought it! :thumbsup:
 
Great album! It takes me back to some good memories. They're a great band who makes quality songs. Their live dvd is good too.
