Shows how great Hetfield's voice is for those songs I guess.
I like how Dave just takes back his songs.
Broken link, guess they took it down?
Guitars sounded good. Seemed to follow Kirk's solo. The vocals were just jarring to me. Mustaine was just being Mustaine, which obviously is fine but was strange to listen to for this song.
Yep. I should have emphasized 'all'. He did not write all of them.Dave definitely at least partially wrote many of the early Metallica songs. They did give him writing credit on some of the songs. Ride the Lightning (the song) was one of these examples. How much of it he wrote, I have no idea.
I like Dave, and Megadeth, and they have never hid the fact that he wrote a lot of those songs. I'm sure he did a bunch of the arrangement and riffs, etc.
I just don't understand why he has to be a dick 24/7 and seems so miserable. He has a winery and horses and is in one of the biggest bands in metal ever. I watched the Nick Menza documentary and seems like he was just a pain in the ass.
That bus you’re throwing Kirk under, simply by omission, was it the same one Mustaine took back home in ‘83?The further Metallica got away from Dave's influence musically, the better off they were. Dave has no fingerprints (regardless of what he claims) on their strongest material...almost all of RTL, along MOP, AJFA and the Black were all Burton, Hetfield and Ulrich.
Haaaa...hilarious. your absolutely...Kirk wrote some of their biggest riffs. I stand corrected. That bus you’re throwing Kirk under, simply by omission, was it the same one Mustaine took back home in ‘83?
Dave does seem a bit stuck in the past, and I'm not sure what it will take to convince him that he shouldn't waste his energy on that. He's had his own thing going for decades. I guess it proves that you can be super successful yet still let something like this bother you. And also, RTL the song, is my least favorite on that album.
I agree with you about RTL the song. But Dave also co wrote Call- and the S&M version of Call is one of my absolute favs. Call into Master with that orchestra… might be my favorite 20 mins of rock ever.
