I absolutely LOVE my new Triple Rectifier. I've owned TONS of amps over the years. Boogies, ENGL, Soldano, Fenders, many flavors of Marshalls and this Triple Rec has kicked my ass like no other amp I've ever had. Flat out kills.
I can't believe I've gone this long without trying one out. I can't forsee using much else for a long time coming.

Any, by the way, my band drools all over my tone every time we play. I've always had great tone, but now.........and our recordings sound HUGE. That's where I've noticed the biggest difference. The Triple Rec records so easy for me.

Hey guys, I thought it would be cool to swap some settings and stuff for dual rec owners! anyone want to share some of their fav settings?

AMAZING IDEA FOR A THREAD!!!

MESA DUAL REC, A VERY KILLER AMP!!!

WRONG FORUM!!!

A heavily modded 1978 Sears Swinger sewing machine would generate more interest than a Mesa Dual Rec in this place...

But ya I use the Orange channel with the Bass about 3:00, Mids about 9:30-10:00, Treble about 1:00-2:00, presence same as Treble and gain about 2-3 with EMG 81.

For 3 channel recto's I use the tube rectifer vs the solid state one and on 2 channel rectos I use the solid state rectifier only...

The power soack thingy is always always on Bold for me...

Very Impotant to my recto formula... NO 420 or 440 POWER TUBES!!! Mesa 430's or Sovtek WXT+ for me...

I tried winged C's and was not as impressed as wit hthe WXT+'s...

The ruby style chineese tubes have to much highs and a bloated bottom end with no mid range soul IMO...

Up front I use a Maxon OD-9 tone at 9:00 and drive and level at 10:00... KICKS ASSSsssSSS!!!

G.
Is there recto hate here?

haha maybe! I just saw Les Zombie's reborn rec! sold to quick for me to grab it though! DAMN!

Some of my favorite settings so far:

Channel 1
All settings at 1 o'clock, except output at 12
Clean

I also liked the same settings for channel three, with a few minor tweaks. Trying to dial in a blend between a Chevelle/Tool-style crunch.

I have played 3 of those Re-torn amps and was not blown away... clips i have heard sound killer though...

I think the regular 3 channels sound better... I have two 2 channel rectos and i jusr bought a 2008 channel last week... should have it by wendsday... cant wait...!

Any of you Recto guys try that Boss power stack pedal into the recto ?

I didnt wanna sell mine, it sold quick but im kinda sad because i liked it better than the other 3 channel rectos i owned but i need cash for a esp greenburst kh-2 i have on order,im really glad mesa made the reborn rects because i hated my last couple older 3 channel and i couldnt even justify keeping then even though i only paid 700 for them both.

I will definately own another one, i took it as part of a trade and wasnt expecting to like it but i loved it and i cant afford to own every amp i love unfortunately.

I bought the above new rec. Mark Day and I wandered into the Boogie store in Hollywood a few weeks ago and plugged into one and we both loved it. Hence the reason I jumped on this one when I saw it.

I left plenty of whoop ass in it......

Just bought this from Mesa Hollywood..........Dual Wreck, first year production, Serial #533. Came out of their Artists Program. Getting airborne today. Probably wore the fuck out, but John T said it was retubed and is a killer Wreck.

nice steve! Looks sweet as hell!

On a sad note,
I plugged mine in today and got a STUPID amount of noise despite a low gain setting on channels 2 and 3. NASTY noise. :( any ideas?

Any other symptoms?

Looking at the back of the amp, the tube closest to the guitar input (left), that preamp tube is V1. If the clean channel is OK, then this tube is OK. It is for all 3 channels. If it is channel 2 and 3 only, then V2 or V3 is likely the culprit. Remove one and stick a good 12AX7 in V2 and check it. If still bad, change V3. Or change both. You will be good to go then. If you don't have a spare tube laying around, use V4. It is the FX loop send and you can use it for testing. Power tubes shouldn't have anything to do with this. Rectifier tubes rarely fail.

Steve,

You were right thanks! V2.

You get your rec yet man?

Not yet, but it should be here in a few more days. I am very curious with the original Wreck....
