I liked it overall, even the wah. I liked the tone, especially James'.

If I must critique I would have to say once again Kirk's vibrato was the worst part. It is the most unmusical vibrato I have ever heard, for any instrument. Kirk has the Tiny Tim vibrato syndrome. It makes me nervous.

Of course Metallica plays stadiums, makes millions, yada yada etc. Kirk still kinda sucks, some people must not have an ear for vibrato if they can't hear that he's out of key all the time. The last time I liked his playing was Master Of Puppets, haven't liked anything from him since.

Overall, I thought it was cool they way the arranged it.

The best for me was Ronan Tynam singing God Bless America in Yankee stadium. Live, it was always something to behold. He's been dropped from doing it because he went on a tyrade against Jews.

I doubt most of the beer filled punters there (just up for a good time) could care less about the intricacies of the tone or the timing. :)

Pretty cool in my book.

 :LOL:Punters? I was watching Trainspotting last night and heard them say that. I guess that a way to call someone a faggot or something right?

If all of the above people who care to critique them fell so strongly.. then why are you not up there ? And your names are ?? Ive never heard of any of you in the industry before. Fuckin whinning bitches is what you are. Eh.. the tone stinks, Kirts sloppy... blah blah blah... and you are where right now ??

I'd love to throw this same logic back in your face if I see you on Youtube trashing Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, or some other popular star whom you probably hate.

Not sure if this has been said already in the thread, but it was Metallica night at the ballpark. Show me another city and baseball team who honors their hometown metal band like that!

Funny thing is, Metallica from 1984 would call that selling out! Now, it looks like if there's a buck involved in it, they'll do it.

On another note, who else thinks national anthems should not be sung/played at sporting events? Total waste of time

I don't know about that, I think they're just Giants fans and like to rep. Regarding the money, I would imagine things change when you go from a 20-something band to a 50-something band with families, houses, etc. I doubt this was a huge payday or anything for them though.

Shut up.

Your from the UK correct ? I would expect a response from the mother English language to be a little more than ..eh.. simple. I understand, don't sweat it.. maybe next time, just keep at it, you'll get it.

You're from the US, correct? ;)

US, Canadian, Portugese, whatever national anthem, they're just tedious and pointless. At least the Canadian one doesn't drag on forever :D

My thought exactly whenever I hear an anthem ;)

Maybe you should think about the people that fought for your rights to hear that song. Lemme' guess you're either 15 or 55 acting like 15 year old. ;)

Hey, they want to play that on Veterans Days, UN meetings, etc. go ahead
Is it necessary to play it at every goddamn sporting event?
I guess I'll just bust out O Canada next time I play a game of cards with my buddies...

You love to be "Mr. Counterpoint/troll" in every thread. I have no respect for someone that can't take 2 minutes out of their day to show a little love and gratitude towards their country.

I'm not trolling, I just don't mind arguing my point if necessary
I respect the fact that you enjoy your "unnecessary patriotic crap", so can you respect that I don't?

Arguing your point? Keep telling yourself that ;)

I'm sure Nigeria would welcome you with open arms if you're looking for a country that doesn't celebrate its history.

This isn't about celebrating a country's history, I don't know how the hell a discussion about 2 minutes of time-wasting propaganda turned into a discussion about celebrating a country's history
There's a time and a place for that, I just don't see why it should be before every sports game in the form of a national anthem

You should be complaining to your local Government or boycotting sporting events all together instead of complaining about it on a "Guitar Forum".
