Chris Merren transformers? I have little interest in the other discussion... but for a guy like me who's just starting on building DIY Marshall clones, just how many different Dagnall T2562/C1998 (12,000 series) power/output transformer replicas are out there? I knew of George Metro's Heyboer clone before Chris'...

All I know is Chris's transformers are killer, killer, killer...My DIY Marshall Plexi is about as 1968 tone-wise as it can get and 98% of it is the transformers...

...if you're DIY'ing a Marshall project, go Merren, end-of-story

I believe it's coming back since I don't see a separate website for his parts store or his replica amps. If that was the case, I wouldn't be so optimistic. I have to imagine George is losing some potential sales because of this.
 
I would have just started a new thread :dunno:


This one is a cluster fuck and needs to be put to rest.
