I'm a pretty picky when it comes to my gear. The nearest guitar store is about an hour away, so a lot of times I can't "try before I buy". That said, return policies are pretty important to me. IMO return policies should be "no questions asked", as long as it's in the established return window.

I'm both hot & cold on Sweetwater. My Sweetwater rep has been super helpful in the past about replacing a couple of defective items....but he's also been a bit of a jerk at times for no apparent reason. Also, I don't like that I can't process a return on the web with Sweetwater. It takes a phone call or email to my (sometimes pissy) rep.

Guitar Center/MF lost my business when they charged over $100 to ship an amp that should have had free shipping. It took several phone calls over a two month period (and then reporting them to the BBB) before they refunded my money.

ZZounds and Music123 have both been decent to work with in the past. They both have decent no hassle return policies......but their inventory is a bit limited.

Nowadays I purchase almost everything (including non-music items) from Amazon. The item is usually on my doorstep in a day, and the return process is crazy easy.

YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST!!! Thank you for all the reply's. I'm planning to purchase a EVH LBX when i get back from Vacation on May 5th. I just wanted to make sure if it arrived defective i could get a prepaid return shipping label. I finally got to play one of the LBX over this past weekend and i really liked it.

I've decided to use sweet water or AMS. I just need to go on Vacation first & then i'll order the amp as soon as i get back.
