"I have been doing guitar based records for almost 40 years and I have worked with a ton of excellent guitar players (Zakk, Steve Stevens, George Lynch, Nuno, Vito Bratta, Wolf Hoffmann, Mick Mars, James Hetfield, Kane Roberts, Scottie and Snake from Skid Row, Chris Impelliteri, Dimebag, Ty Tabor etc.) and just as many great amps. The Kemper is a game changer and is hands down THE best piece of gear that walked though my studio door in the last 20 years."

Wow! Coming from Micheal that's saying something.

Yes they are cool, I sell a ton of them and people dig them.

Best piece of gear I've bought in years (thanks again Brad), I play through it more than the 3 amps sitting in my basement, and they are NICE amps, but I also have profiles of 2 of them ;)

I bet in another 20 years there will be a lot of Kempers for sale...cheap. Although they may be worth more than an Axe Fx.

But what is your point? There are a lot of tube and solid state amps that are around today that will be on sale for cheap in 20 years too.

Get yourself a Bogner, Friedman, Voodoo...etc, etc and it won't be for sale cheap. I've spent years trying everything but a good tube amp and all that other stuff eventually becomes worthless.

Amps are tools. Even if an amp I bought 20 years previously has no remaining value, I've gotten my money's worth.

I found tube amps in 1979 and still have some including a couple of Bogner's but speculation over their value in 20 years had no play in my decision making. If I want to invest my money there are better options available then tube amps.

Ok, buy a Kemper or buy a tube amp for the same price. Let's fast forward 20 years, and say that the Kemper still works after 20 years and so does the tube amp, and that you would have played either the same amount of time - say a lot.

How much do you think 20 years worth of power tubes are going to cost? Probably $100 or so a pop, and if you're playing a tube amp often you'll need to retube about every year, possibly more. This isn't counting any preamp or driver/phase inverter tubes that go bad.

BTW, I own a Bogner xtc, Cameron and Fortin modded marshalls, VHT, vintage (real) marshalls, etc... and still have a kemper and love it. Don't understand why people have to be all in one camp. We should enjoy the variety of gear we have available. :)

I'd bet ya all the computers that made all of the posts in this thread combined will be worth less than 1 kemper in 20 yrs

I understand that and definitely am not trying to start a battle. Sorry if I'm coming across that way. I guess I've just realized after 25 years of trying everything out there that simplicity works best for me. I've never come across anything more expressive than a good tube tone and am enjoying playing guitar more than ever these days.

Everything turns to garbage eventually, some just take longer than others.

"You're home is a garbage processing center where new things are purchased and slowly demoted through various stages of trashification until you're done."

I think you might be surprised just how simple the Kemper really is. I played my first gig this past weekend with my Kemper and I have never had as good of a live tone as what the Kemper gave me. I have a Bogner xtc 20th, I have had a VH4, Landry,Boogies...... Nothing beat what the Kemper can do for the most part, and it's simple. Turn it on, feed and xlr to front of house and play your gig. Built in effects are all I would ever need. It is a game changer for sure. I am going to sell most of my other gear. I will keep the Bogner and a small rack setup and a couple speaker cabs. All the rest can go..

It's Christmas so I won't go back and re-quote your posts to bring us back on track. Merry Christmas.

Best post in the thread.

I don't own a Kemper (nor have I tried one) but Michael Wagener is one hell of an endorsement.

Congrats to the folks at Kemper; they've obviously come up with a great product.
