I like it! I can't believe you are still tinkering, you are diggin the modding. I got burnt out and just want to play so more power to you!
Thanks man!
Yeah it's alot of fun... I bet if I got a Metro, my playing would go to utter shit! LOL! :D
I put the amp back in the headshell... I was going to replace the cans with F&T's and Sozo 67's but after the Mustards, I think I can wait another couple years until the filter caps actually need replacing... LOL! :D

Sounds a little mushy but still good! I can tell with an eq tweak you'd be there.

Agreed. :)

It feels awesome... :D
I can make it brighter by replacing the .0022 with a .022. But then it will lose the plexiness.

I hated the .0022 when I did mine. It was too bright and glassy...yeah Plexi!! I much prefered the .022.

Shouldn't it be the other way around... .022 to .0022

Actually, what I said doesn't make any sense... Solder fumes are getting to me... LOL! :D
If I'm not mistaken, in a 1959 circuit; .022 is the coupling cap for the Normal channel. .0022 is the coupling cap for the Bright channel. In a 2203 circuit, the channels (or gain stages) are cascaded and both sides use .022.
Now I went through several iterations and kept settling on 2k7/.68uf for both the V1A, V1B and 330uf across the V2A. When the amp was a 1959, I liked a .68uf across the V2A, but I found it kinda harsh when I wired it up like a 2203. So I did some googling and found a recommendation that suggested boosting the high frequencies first and adding the bass later in the chain. So I did that and liked it. I believe the hand-drawn Jose schematic shows the same thing. The tone was more modded Plexi than modded 2203 if that makes any sense. Then I put the original Mustards back in (.022, .0022) and that brought in some highs. And here we are.

Oh man that sounds GREAT!!!!!!

The 16ohm output jack reared it's ugly head this week on my DSL. I have to fix that today and I have to find a permanent amp solution soon. Thinking about getting a VM. I have a lot of gigs coming up soon and I need something that is gonna hold up for the shows. I doubt I would have time to get an SLP dialed in before the shows start but who knows.

Your clip is making me think I need to order a kit today so that I can have it finished soon and use it live. Although my wife would kill me twice lol!

I have LASIK scheduled for tomorrow. Maybe I can say that I need a kit to work on to make sure they did my eyes correctly

Thanks man! :D
I couldn't stop playing that thing last night. When I hit it with the OD808, it was exactly what I was hearing in my head when I started this whole adventure. I have arrived! LOL! :D

Yeah it takes a while to dial in the way you want. My advice... before you go out there and tweak like a maniac, make sure you have a good idea of what you want and keep it realistic.

It's great! I'd keep it that way and tinker with a Metro for whatever else you want.

How much you wanna bet? The ONLY way that thing is "done" is if you strip out the screws holding the chassis in the head box AND stop going to the Metro forum.

I only go to the Metro forum when I run in trouble and need help... If it works, I don't go. So there smart guy!
