The Romans were pretty advanced for the time, but then the Dark Ages put a stop to that. So to me - things "can" go back.
People say we can't go back to pre-covid, as if covid lasted 20 years. It was only like a year or two.
Humans' dependence on computers for running everything is pretty shortsighted imho.
But i grew up in a time where most everything was manual/analog. And somehow everything still got done lol.

I actually agree with most of this. My fear is that AI is so big and different, that the human species is not going to be able to stop using it, perfecting it, and ultimately, making it so smart that it can take over.

But secretly (don't tell anyone), I hope there is a grid meltdown and the internet goes dark for several months. That will teach people

when 1 in 100 residents of Rome (or similar ratio, maybe it was 1 in 1000?) were Roman and the rest were foreigners living off native Romans, it was a recipe for destruction. The Romans were short of money and manpower, and trained germanic, frank, and spanish tribes how to fight like Romans and the "barbaric" tribes learned well and helped to destroy Rome.

AI agents formed societies; each agent had 1-2 lines of prompt telling it what it's job role is, and it's basic personality (helpful, nice, hard worker, lazy,...)

They even spread a religion converting other agents.

Another created a software development company of agents that actually writes code where the agents collaborated with each other.

These are just experiments. AI advancements are happening faster and faster too.
