money, power and because we can. What i never understood, is if this is what kills humanity, why do we continue using it, continue developing it?

the tech bros think AI gods will spare them when they ask "have I been a good boy?"What i never understood, is if this is what kills humanity, why do we continue using it, continue developing it?
Or maybe won't stop it?Once it starts...you can't stop it.
Or maybe won't stop it?
The Romans were pretty advanced for the time, but then the Dark Ages put a stop to that. So to me - things "can" go back.
People say we can't go back to pre-covid, as if covid lasted 20 years. It was only like a year or two.
Humans' dependence on computers for running everything is pretty shortsighted imho.
But i grew up in a time where most everything was manual/analog. And somehow everything still got done lol.

The Roman economy was already so decimated that many Roman citizens welcomed their conquerors as liberators. The main reason the Franks, Gauls and Visigoths were actually serving in the Roman legions is the fertility rate in Rome fell below replacement rate and could not keep the legions populated with Romans. Rome fell from within.when 1 in 100 residents of Rome (or similar ratio, maybe it was 1 in 1000?) were Roman and the rest were foreigners living off native Romans, it was a recipe for destruction. The Romans were short of money and manpower, and trained germanic, frank, and spanish tribes how to fight like Romans and the "barbaric" tribes learned well and helped to destroy Rome.
we can see it beginning across Western Europe, invasion, and soon cleansings and conquests of the native Europeans.
