Withdrawn Morin Preamp/modded JMP

Looking for a Mike Morin built preamp. I know some sound great and some sound like freaking butt. I’m not looking to spend money on one over the internet with no clips. Any past sellers I hit up would flake out and never send clips

So if you happen to have a killer sounding one and looking to move it hit me up with some clips and a price!

Also potentially interested in a JMP modded by Morin with the extra tube stage and clipping. Again, would need to hear prior to purchasing.

You just missed out on a preamp from Australia. Guy I sold it to almost 14 years ago finally let it go. Morin said he didn't like it because it turned out mushy, but I thought it was cool. Leon Todd posted a demo of it. Between that and Michael Nielsen's video you can get an idea of what they sound like. The older ones have a lot more mids than this particular preamp.



I've played 4 different preamps and while they're all voiced a bit differently, I wouldn't say any of them sounded like butt. The preamps and mods are designed for 6402 cone M25 Greenbacks and don't sound balanced with Vintage 30s.

Yeah … I sent them an offer and they never countered. Wasn’t looking to spend a bunch + shipping/tariffs. Figured I’d pop on here and see if anything in the US shakes loose for a reasonable price.

its interesting that you mention that some morin modded marshalls sound bad, I have one is a 1980 JMP with the deluxe mod and is freaking awesome, I played another one one it was like a 87 800 with a regular high gain, tried last year and it was also a super tone amp, thrash ready killer leads.
the guy sold it for 2700 I don't sell mine, I really like it a lot has that type of 80s glam rock high gain and then have another extra knob, and turns this thing more thumpier for more aggressive metal, and that's insane because it was modded almost 30 years ago.

Landed a “gain mod” JCM 50 watt but still looking for some other flavors to try. Especially JMP/Head From Hell ones
