I have a Hagen and a Herbert Mk I. I truly believe you'd be thrilled with the same.

Herbert's channel 2 is so amazing (on both + and - ) it is totally worth the price of admission.

Channel 1 is a fun clean and Channel 3 slays. Add the versatility of the mid cut function and you've got a lot of fun in a heavy box that takes a variety of glass!

Mo, I'm here to tell you bro. If you love the vh4 that much over the Herbert it's not gonna change. Try a different year vh4 and see what happens or go for something completely new and get the D-Moll. I really don't think Herbert is gonna do it for you if it didn't back then. I know tastes change, but I don't think they're gonna change that much.

Slyvern's suggestion is a good one: try a different vintage. There are some noticeable differences, though all of course sound like a VH4. This way, you scratch the itch for something new and exciting for you but you're pretty much guaranteed to still love it if you've loved your other VH4 heads.

The thing ("the" thing) about the Herb is the fact I can intermingle the glass. This to me has been a huge plus to it in my books. I think I can sculpt the tones with the variety of bottles and biases. That's why I'm intrigued.

Hey mo, when I was in Germany, by Frankfurt, checking in at the hotel and at the counter I'm looking at the borchure, all the pictures have naked man and women in the sauna, swimming pool area and on the grounds. I was yes heaven ! But was with my new wife on honeymoon. Damn, figures I had to behave.
Anyhow, this hotel offered scuba lessons indoors. I guess some kind of nudist place. I was smiles the whole time I was there. I can try and find the name of the place. But don't bring the wife.
