Most brutal amp

I'd have to go with my Engl E570 preamp into my VHT 2-90-2 poweramp with 6550's. Second closest would be a Herbert.

Nothing else compares...trillion trick pony...does everything in spades.

What does brutal mean? Amount of gain and low end? Then probably some solid state amp. I often find that brutal doesn't = good.

My rackmount Randall RG100HT fits this description.

Fender Deluxe Reverb with forty five tubescreamers in front.

The uber has a shitpile o gain but I wouldn't exactly consider it brutal!

You are crazy! The Uber is easily one of the most brutal sounding metal amps ever created. Tons of great death metal albums recorded on that amp.

To me, brutal means gain, saturation, tightness and low-end.
I'd have to go with the ENGL SE.
Plus One on the Se

I believe these guys to all be correct. I does brutality like no other. That's one of the reasons I have one in my stable. It also has a great ability to cut in the mix while still maintaining that brutalness.

I haven't played any 4 thousand dollar boutique amps, but from what I've played, it's the 5150. Also the most brutal recorded tones I've heard are from the 5150, so that kind of supports my opinion even if I've never played through some of those more expensive amps.

Rhodes modded Dual Recto does it for me.
As well as a Rhodes Colosuss. And an Uberschall is
Pretty fine at grunting.

-Diezel VH4
-5150
-VHT Ultralead (with GEQ)
-Two channel Dual Rect.

I should probably add that, although it's brutal, I've personally not really enjoyed the FBM clips that I've heard so far. I really hope someone posts one where a tone OTHER than the Meshuggah-chug is evident. I like that tone on record, but wouldn't want it as my tone...

True!! Even so.. I dug this one a lot. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZHJu3tmeAiM

In 1978, I blew up my Fender Champ by putting it in another room, diming it, and pushing it over the top with an EH 10 band and a Big Muff. Sounded like Neil Young for about 10 seconds then *poof*
