I hate fake drums whether they sound good or not. A machine cannot be organic the way a human with a soul and feel of their own will. A computer will never be able to replicate a great drummer.

Follow me here: I was on X for a minute. Hip-hop/rap dudes were going insane over AI taking over a lot of their music production for a lot of artists, especially younger ones who can't afford production costs. I ruffled some feathers when I told them I was saying this back when drum machines became central to hip-hop/rap production in the 90's and yet my thoughts were pretty much dismissed at the time. "Just a hater stuck in the past". Now lay in the bed you've made. People need to see the logical conclusion that machines will ultimately remove most of the human element from music altogether. No more studio musicians required. No more engineers. Just a few people stamping their approval on what the machine has created.
Onyx opening for Biohazard.
Live drums made a HUGE difference.

Welcome to 1974.

TGP blues bands who have names like "Blank Blank and the Blanky Blanks".

Random examples I made up: Joe Dickey and Cold Spigets. Or, Lee Pearl and the Broken Souls Blues Band. Teddy Bruce and the Wet Whistles. 😄 🤣 I'm cracking myself up.

These guys are 100% wearing fedora hats, possibly a vest, they're making orgasm faces while playing the solo in While My Guitar Gently Weeps. Very likely wearing purple colored shades, and play Gibson or Fender only.

Modern/Pop Country: It's just music for women who wants to dress up in cowboy boots.

"Hick Hop"/Country Rap: What you listen to when you wish you were black but you're also racist. You probably blast this out of your baby mama's car windows to impress people in the parking lot at Walmart while waiting to meet your meth dealer.

It's just not real country the way it used to be.

Imo the last real punk band to come out was NOFX. Fuck pretty much the whole scene after that.
I would tend to agree with this.

There was a Lot of great west coast punk bands coming out of the 1970s, several of which were captured in the Decline documentary.

rap and hip hop producers are more concerned with using real drums both in the studio and live than metal bands these days, most all the big names have real bands playing live

Old country yes I agree is decent. Well, I was drunk, the day my mom got out of prison...but this newer pop country is awful. Even worse is when they try to blend rap like lyrics with the pop country. Stay in your lane. Scheissmusik.

I too, have been trying to figure out what neo soul is after seeing the thread today.

Now you wait a goddamn minute dude, Beyoncé won "Best Country Album" award for being BRAVE and crossing over to country music. You and your stay in your lane nonsense....pfft...the audacity...
Im kind of pissed off I can't talk shit about neosoul..somewhat because I don't know what the fuck it is...somewhat because I am not sure it isn't made up to troll Rig-talk

Neo-Soul are those shitbags like Plini, Ichicka Nito, Yvette Young and everyones favorite....drum roll....Polyphia. Basically clean tone shredders or bands revolved around it.

And tan pants every day, except summer, then it's tan shorts, but they still wear the same dark dress socks, maybe with clogs or sandals in summer.

Is there a genre we can ALL agree on?

how about Rock n' Roll

Is that even a genre

is there anyone here who does NOT like Rock? :gethim: Don't make me create a new thread on this :dunno:

I don't think we could all agree on a genre, but if we could, it would probably be 70s rock.

What I can fucking gaurentee is it isn't EDM

I saw Nashville Pussy probably 15 years ago, guitarist was playing an SG into Plexi's....absolutely killer tone. Stood out big time to me at the time.
Never got to see them live, but have been a fan since Let Them Eat Pussy came out.

I saw Nashville Pussy when they had that 7 foot tall blonde chick with tits the size of basketballs. That was cool. Probably one of the most high energy shows I've ever seen.
