Because it is owned by the CCP and they take data collecting to levels that others don’t get remotely close to. It is designed to dumb down and shorten the attention spans of users as well. The Chinese are our enemy, and they shouldn’t be involved in any sort of business or own land here without some extreme oversight. Yup, it's always been about the data collection of US citizens (and the rest of the world) by a certain gubment.

I heard a while back that there's at least one US company that's got everything "in-place" in order to be able to offer the app spyware-free. If it's granted permission to buy the rights to do so, that'll take care of that aspect of it at least.
