I have an older, Japanese SD-1 and OD-1, I like them better than the new Taiwan ones, they sound thicker to me. But any SD-1 or OD-1 is a great pedal. If you just want to try it, buy Taiwan made used at a guitar store or CL and test it, see how you like it. If you love it maybe find a Japanese one and sell the Taiwanese or buy a new WAZA.
