NAD: EVH 5150IIIS LIMITED EDITION STEALTH

Channel 2 def has more gain on the stealth, more upper mids I dunno if I would say that. I think the Evh already had a healthy severing of upper mids. The stealth is a little brighter all around than the original but is still not a bright amp.

well here's my TOWER of FU*KKING death

my thoughts are exactly as everyone has represented herein.
Channel 2 fu*king ROXX. It's everything the original 100W was not - brigher, more hi-mids, more gain, with still the "openess" that the original 100W was known for. Of course you can't increase the gain without being a "bit" more compressed   but man do those pinch harmonics JUMP outta the cabinet.

as has been noted the overall gain of Ch2 and 3 of the 100S is higher - but IMHO the Ch1 (green) also breaks up a bit quicker than the original.
I'll have to experiment more, as I'm playing a Anderson DT7 and the H1- (even split) tends to be HOT.

Anyway, pix or it didn't happen! :D

Look's awesome man!
I was surprised to see you have all three versions 
I was debating with myself "if it's ok" to buy one of them when I have more amps already…
Very very cool!
Enjoy.

Hey BP - thanks brutha! Yeah right now I've got all 3, but with the new 100S it pretty much covers all the ground of the 50W mini and the 100W original    Prior to my acquisition of the 100S, I had already listed the original 100W for sale.
I gotta give it up to Rockinchippy and the rest of the guys on this thread who showed the love for this head - it is truly as good as everyone says it is!

Dammit, I had a feeling this thing was going to kick ass. Blue sounds like it's exactly what I was looking for with the changes.

What's up guys. Just been real busy dealing with life issues, you know the story. Still kicking myself for not grabbing one of these though. I opted into the Helios thru king, kind of second guessing myself now though, since I could have ordered either from him at the time.

I'm loving a bunch of el cheapo amps these days, lol. Not really cheap, just not the high rollers. I have a b+ qr, nitro, orange or100, vht cl100, budda sd80II, twin jet, and a multi watt triple rec.

I want to ask the lucky guys who already have it - does the amp have a Manual (like the classic head). If Yes, does the manual have Eddie's personal settings?

It comes with the regular 100 watt owners manual and a 1 sheet multi language addendum describing the changes for the 100S. I read above where a few didn't get the sheet but mine was tucked inside the manual. The manual has recommneded settings. Whether those are Eddie's or not I couldn't tell ya. There was a post awhile back that showed a pic of his settings.

that pic ur talking about and the settings in the book are almost identical..

Everything pretty much at noon except the mids which are between 9 and 10 o'clock and the lows are set about1 o'clock. I pretty much run everything about the same but my mids stay closer to the noon position.

Gain and Presence at noon too?
And what about the Resonance from the back?
Maybe you can post a pic/scan. It will be more easier for everyone. I've searched for the pdf manual but nothing until now.

Here's a pic of the settings. Doesn't show the settings for the resonance knob since the pic is from the standard 100 watt manual.

The 100S comes with the standard 100 watt manual and a 1 sheet multi language addendum describing the changes for the 100S.

I use similar settings but I like presence around 3oclock .. Depth on the back around noon

Many thanks man, I appreciate taking the time for that!
I was dead curious what other tricks do Fender marketing dep. to attract attention to their products after those " this amp and cab are identical to the ones Eddie used on the last tour. They include all of his tweaks, mods, and upgrades... this 5150-III head gives you the latest mods and tweaks of Eddie's latest rig".
I've already heard this story once, in 2006, when they designed the amp with Eddie. Apparently they were wrong at that time and needed a redesign.
I could have sworn that the 100S manual has other "Eddie's favorite/secret" settings, but it seems I was totally wrong. :)
