Almost every Cameron I have serviced/repaired has had a diode clip circuit. Including the Aldrich Mods too. I would guess this mod is a variation on the Aldrich, since it sounds super close to one that I used to own.

I owned 3 Cameron Mods in the past and they are all unique and sound like nothing else.

The Aldrich has 4 gain stages. If he incorporates clipping its only to a very small degree for tonal outcome but I have to think Dan would know. I'm sure he's learned a few of his tricks from Mark.The Aldrich kicks ass.

The clip circuit thats in the Aldrich mod adds a shit ton of gain and saturation. Some of the earlier Aldrich mods without the clip circuit are a little less gainy/compressed than his HG Jose mods in comparison.

Interesting. My Aldrich has a big round low end(not compressed at all) and can be very open. I don't sense any compression from diodes. It is gooped so I cannot see if there are any diodes in the circuit. Its not an early mod but it may be a variation as it was done to be closer to Mark's original bitch used by Norum, and Doug. It does have a load of gain. I only keep my gains at 6 or lower depending on the three way switches settings.

Yours probably doesn't have the clip circuit. If the amp has a switch that drops the volume when engaged, then it has the clip circuit some also had it on a dial instead of a toggle switch.

Dan - is this your old Aldrich? I got this from Eben 4-5 years ago. This one has a rotary selector on the back and has a clip circuit. Not going to post a gut shot. Mark did use clear silicon for goop though

Just replaced the power tubes sockets yesterday. Had a couple of the originals that were a bit dodgy and one that pulled through the chassis.
