What tubes are in the Jose? Mine is very sensitive to different types of tubes...both preamp and power tubes. I tend to like the Winged c's EL34 power tubes since they get the amp a ting bit of give over NOS tubes. I use and RFT in V1 to give the amp pop and tightness although I prefer old Yugoslavian tubes in V1. V2 I use an 8th gen Chinese and V3 has a new Tungsol. Just my 2 cents...since you will be home for a while I thought you might have fun tinkering with some tube swaps
