Which Marshall-esque amp builders for dry and open high gain tones?

Splawn QR is great and the new ones have more squish than the old ones.

Don’t rule out the KSR Juno. More in the 800 side of things and you can’t get a bad sound out of it.

Could not agree more. I have owned 4 Splawns over the years - an older 100 Watt QR and Nitro and a newer 'Fully Loaded' 50 Watt QR and Nitro. I did let the 50 Fully Loaded Nitro go - only because the QR in 3rd Gear in 'New' Voicing with the mids 'Cut' was SO close to the Nitro that it made the Nitro a bit redundant. But it was a killer sounding amp. My Fully Loaded 50 Watt QR is so incredibly flexible - it can do damn near anything. The new ones definitely have more compression going on than the older versions with 3 pre-amp tubes and Heyboer Iron. But they still are incredibly articulate. Tons of clarity and string separation - even at high gain settings. WIth the Old/New and Mid/Cut switches, its impossible not to find a killer Marshall-esque sound with just about any cabinet / speaker you may be using.
