NAD - Mesa Boogie Mark 2C+ HRX (clips)

This is another interesting video - To me it sounds massive even without the help of the parametric eq
No parametric eq engaged 0:00 - 6:35 mono track Rane Parametric eq engaged at 6:36 stereo track
And yeah I re-housed it in a mark IV combo shell! The stock one was f...ed up haha

Cool, I can't quite make out your settings, is there a particular way you like settings up the EQ? Are you trying to approximate the Mesa 5-band graphic at all, or just adjusting to taste?

Not the same Mesa 5 band eq - I will post some photos later after work :)
 
Ok, so I just come back from the studio - I played this fucker through my favorite VHT loaded with v30s - running both a parametric eq + aphex and the tone is BRUTAL!! Too bad my S9 cannot capture the beastly tone of this thing! I think it is tighter than my SRGX - sure it has the x101 transformer. The SRGX sounds a bit crunchier maybe more aggressive. Anyhow I will be uploading some clips from the studio. This is the 1st one but youtube has f....ed up both the volume and added tons of compression lol

And it further makes my point that the JP2C, or any mode of the MKV is no where close to the real thing. I don't care what Mesa says.

I'll continue to say it, and people will continue to tell me I'm full of shit. If you dig your Vintage Mark, hold onto it. They will only increase in value.

The 2C's have always been iconic and up there in price, but other iterations and other pre-MKV MK's are creeping up there as well.

Of course lots of stuff is at inflated prices ATM, but I doubt the pre-2000 era Mark Boogies and other Mesas will come down much when the current bubble pops.
