Well guys not exactly new new, but I got a 5150 III in pretty recently and man do I love this thing. It is the perfect amp for what I do. I am totally in love with channel 2 on this head. I am not real good at extensive reviews so I just did a clip with mine. Bear in mind that this is a pretty heavy track.

I will try and do something using the clean and all three channels soon.

Guitar used on this was my Pagan Gold Socal. The chain was guitar>TS>Noise Supressor>Amp. All reamped of course.

I still have some tweaking to do and this is my first reamp so its not great, but hey whatevs, we are all learning right?

Wow that sounded badass! I had no idea that ch2 of that amp could get that heavy!

Nice job!

That sounds amazing! Very defined and chunky. I loved that amp when I tried it.

Cool!

Ch 2 boosted, eh?

Yeah I can't seem to get around not boosting these days. It just feels so good!

As for my recording chain. It was just a the signal went out of the firepod>Radial Prormp>TS>5150 III>back to firepod> and into logic where it was hipassed and lopassed.

Seems a lot of people use the high pass and low pass on guitars in metal. Does that help the guitar fit sonically within the mix better? Sometimes I have trouble finding the sweet spot because what sounds right in my mix doesn't "feel" good to play.

Would HP/LP help with this?

It just gets rid of all the nasty useless crap. Fizz, mud, all that b/s. Obviously those things can lie in other areas too but yeah.

I usually hipass at 80hz and lopass at 12k.

What are the settings of the blue channel and the Tubescreamer?? Thanks so much and great clip!!

Congrats. I had a 5153 on loan for a few months and I loved the low beef it dished out.

I'll listen to the clip when I get home from work.

That's a great amp, I used mine at a outdoor show we played at and it sounded great, I always liked that amp.

Sounds killer! I noticed your using Dropbox, any problems with it? me and some buddies just got hooked up there, but I cant transfer logic files to Pro-Tools :aww: I guess the 2 systems are not compatible

excellent!

I have a 5150 III and after about 20 shows with it it has become the best live amp I have ever owned!

I dont even use any boost with it...so much tone and gain on tap!

That was beefy! I had no idea they could get that brutal. What cab do you use with it norrmally?

I dig the song, no growling vocals. :D
