So I scored this as a birthday gift to myself. I'm not entirely sure when it was made but I'm fairly sure it's an early one.




First impressions:
The good - this thing is pure rock and roll. No doubt about it. AC/DC tones for days. You can thrash hard chords on this amp and it still retains an amazing amount of note clarity.
Built unbelievably sturdy. High grade headshell, super thick steel chassis, heavy duty turret boards, Heavy duty buss wire throughout. All jacks are Switchcraft, pots are CTS.
The not so good:
It's stupid loud. I'm thinking a PPIMV might be in order here. An attenuator at least.
It's a very bright amp. The rhythm channel seems to be set up as a NMV Marshall type, and it's rather harsh on the ears. Some mods might settle it down.
Overall it's a killer amp and I'll get plenty of use out of it! Glad to be a part of the Wizard family.
