Firstly Merry Christmas y'all and hope everyone is enjoying it with friends and family *_*
And secondly a big thank you to Andrew at Zzounds....... I really can't believe the price I got it at after all was said and done and yeah just a great deal. For the money glad I went this route vs some other options on the market and even though I never tried this cab before and took a risk I'm glad I did because it's just an amazing cab that sounds fantastic. Love that Matrix Grill Cloth too *_*
Got this in two days ago and putting it through its paces........ Best part too is it's Made/Built in America/USA
Honestly it's better than I hoped, wired in 8ohm using two V30 16ohm speakers....... It's just fucking great.....
The amp sounds better with this set up and more full, higher headroom and just so much tight bass, polite mids and great top end here but not harsh or jagged but still with a solid edge. Keeps a lot of vintage flavor with a modern bite.....
Overall so much chewy, supple and spongy mids with a lot of give and take..... Really nice and solid tracking, tracing and pick attack to be had and very organic sounding....
Relative to the Greenbacks or G12H30 70th Anniversary Ive tried the mids seem more relaxed and this doesn't really exhibit a huge mid spike here typical to other V30s I've tried in the past. iMO they sound more neutral regarding mids..... Which is fantastic IMO.
Overall really liking it and may experiment here and there popping in a G12C or maybe try a G12H30 70th Anniversary to see whats up but honestly don't see how it can get better.
It's got that top end sizzle but not harsh, it's got that lower upper mid thing but not as round or flabby as a G12H30 or Greenback can get like sometimes and it's very nice and warm but not dark with a very present and crunchy top end but not harsh or too bright. Overall very well balanced and I was afraid I wasn't going to like it but yeah......
What I love is that the lows are nice and thumpy but not bloated....... Playing other V30s before I feel they can get overly bloated..... Here you pretty much just get thump and a really great and focused/tight low end that isn't bloated or boomy.... Tight like a sweet apple bottom and yeah the lower upper mids are excellent as said, warm but not dark and relaxed top end.....
Great spongy mids, solid and tight low end, present but relaxed top end with a nice and crispy and crunchy roar as we expect from Celestion Speakers or at the least I do!!!!!
Could not be happier with the cab and these current production V30s and it's fucking great and definitely recommend one of these Bad Cat Cabs......
Also the casters are nice and detachable and pretty cool IMO, glad it comes with that and I don't have to buy them aftermarket or drill holes or anything
