Just ordered more parts she needs. Wish I knew what those blue signal caps were?!!
I thought they were either some type of Mullard or Phillips cap so I did a search and it appears as though they are Mullard/Phillips brand caps.:2thumbsup:

The brand of a "68 Marshall Tropical Fish Capacitor" is
Mullard, and "Tropical Fish" is the nickname for the Mullard/Phillips C280 capacitors known for their striped casing. A "68" refers to the capacitance value of
0.68μF0.68 mu cap F
, commonly used in vintage amps like the Marshall Plexi.

  • Brand: Mullard
  • Capacitor Type: "Tropical Fish" is a nickname for the Mullard C280 series, which uses a metallised polyester film.
  • Value: The "68" indicates a capacitance of
    .68μF0.68 mu cap F
    or
    680nF680 n cap F
  • Application: These are often used as a vintage-correct replacement or upgrade for tone control and cathode bypass in amplifiers, particularly in vintage Marshall amps

The blue/white caps are original. My 68 Super Trem looks exactly like that, preamp is all stock / original. I was told they are Cornell/ Dublier caps.

I gotta see that, post some chassi pics!!

I thought I had a full picture somewhere, but this is what I have for now…used to have a one piece rectifier, but it failed so had to improvise. Replaced PT and changed grounding, rectifier and filter caps, MV etc. I can get a full picture at some point. It sounds pretty good.

Yes, I think the correct spelling for the brand of those blue/yellow caps is "Cornell Dubilier" (CDE); I've mainly seen them in '68 - '69 Marshall, I guess when they ran out of the classic Mustard. Good caps and don't make for less awesome sounding amps than the Mustards IMHO; my '69 Super Trem has some with a few Mustard mixed in.
Also seen some Wima (as used in the 60's Vox / Selmer for instance) from time to time during that period.
