Necro BUMP. Did you ever get an acoustic JBT? Hope you found something you dig!

fuck no...I just missed out on the deal of the century-godin a6 for $200.

That's too bad. I still stand by my original suggestion, Breedlove. I've never been happier with a gear purchase. I've got mine in my lap while I type this. I'm playing guitar as much as I did when I was a wee lad now that I've got a guitar which doesn't frustrate me.

Necrobump again!

Looking for an acoustic. It would seem I'm not a Taylor guy, I've owned one and my mom still owns one but my cheap Sigma DR1 kicked a bunch of more expensive guitars to the curb. But it needs a refret and I think it's time for an upgrade. So it would seem I'm a Martin guy.

I would consider dropping the serious cash for an old Martin but prob wouldn't do that without a visit to Gruhn's (I'm about 3.5 hour drive). I need to play 000-18 vs the OMs and others to see which suits my playing. If I'm gonna drop money on an acoustic an old Martin will likely just go up in value (justification as if I needed it). I fingerpick a lot but do strum a little and play early Django style too. Cutaway would be nice.

Eastman caught my eye, specifically the AC422CE. I tend to favor Rosewood backnsides but will admit Mahogany sometimes sounds more balanced.

Martin DSR2 if yo can find one in your price range. By far the best guitar I've tried sub 1,000 new.

Yep. I'm a Martin fan personally and I was blown away at some of the cheaper Martin guitars. Mine was $1500 and I played a $499 one about a year ago that I almost bought on the spot.

I'm primarily a guild and larrivee guy when it comes to acoustics. If you like vintage, you can find old Guild D25 and if you like newer, Larrivee D03 for around $500, at least I have in the past... I've also got a 74 takamine F390 that I picked up for $375. Its a guild F50R copy and its amazing. All solid wood, and not a crack on it after 46 years which you cant say about most guilds...

damn...been a long strange ride since I posted this. I cannot even play now. fuck you m.s.....

... I'm a cheap fuck brother...
Confirmed by Dan.

Dan reckons that if you wanna splash out, the cheapest 6 pack of beer and an alleyway is all Steve requires.

Seriously 'though, I've not had a budget for an acoustic. Still trying to use a $40 no-name-branded geetar my dad bought for me when I was 12. Still in one piece (hardly been played, really) at 40+ years old, but man, it plays like a donkey and sounds like a camel grunt.

This thread's many suggestions has me thinking now that I ought to look into it again. Thank you for starting the thread way back when, Stoivo.
