Hey gents! I'm looking for a new 4x12 thats modern sounding, maybe a bit on the throatier side. While I'm up with the times on amps, I haven't messed with cabs in a good 8 years at least. I currently have a Randall Nuno 412. I ripped out the stock greenbacks and have 2- M65 Creambacks on top and 2 - GK100 on the bottom. Sounds great but the low end is a tad boomy and overall sounds vintage. I also have a Mesa 212 stock w/ V30's. Its very nice but can be a bit ice picky. Again, I'm looking for something more modern sounding with the following amps I currently have;

Splawn Nitro KT88
Splawn QR EL34
Bogner Uberschall Rev Blue EL34
Mesa Triple Rec 6L6
Peavey 5150 Sig

I was looking at Friedman (maybe 12/15 version), EVH and Fryette w/ Fanes. I used to have a VHT FB cab which was nice. I've been reading on forums that the Fane version is much better...IDK. Are Mesa 412's still king? I see Mills cabs dissipated LOL. Is it all about Fortin and KSR these days? Any recommendations are appreciated. No cap on budget. New or used is cool.

The EVH greenbacks in the EVH 4x12's are great speakers, but if you want modern sounding, look elsewhere.
Why not swap the M65 creambacks for a pair of G12T-75's for an Ubber-cab config, and maybe go with an x pattern.
At the very least, I think you need to ditch the M65's.
My experience with them, while I liked them a lot for what they are ( high powered greenback ), they are very vintage sounding and loose in the low end.
Fantastic with a Vox AC30.
Not so much with an Uberschall.....

First of all....welcome to R-T

Lots of smart chaps here

Why not look into a Splawn cab. Scott's Small Blocks are like a modern GB or CB.

My Mesa Slant Trad is a kick ass cab but may not pair well with your Splawns.

That's my 311 cents.

USA Randall cabs are serious contenders, and criminally underrated. The Marshall MF400 will rattle your nuts too.

Thanks for the welcome! I'm actually not new to the forum. I just haven't been on the forums forever so my account got deactivated

So yeah, I've never played a Splawn cab but I've heard nothing but great things and it is on my list of considerations.

Fused; I agree with you as far as the M65's go. Reason I went that route initially is because I did want a higher powered GB but it seems that I should've went with the H75 for what I'm looking for so thats my bad. Plus, I believe Splawn recommends and praises the M65 to match with his amps. Definitely a great choice especially with the QR. With that said, thats why I want to keep my Randall the way it is and just grab another cab

Napalm; I agree with you too! I grabbed the cab because I got it for $200 and thats a steal for a GB loaded cab!! When I opened it up to change the speakers, I saw that it is built very well. I wouldn't hesitate with another Randall cab.

How are all the BAD manufactured cabs? Are the current Uberkabs made by them? I used to have an Uberkab but it was too dark and woofy sounding to me.

I have a Mills afterburner and love it. I have a randall xl with v30s and it is a great cab that just sits in my garage. Also have an evh stealth cab. If I were in the market for a new cab, it would be either a uberkab or a fryette hands down
