Need new power tubes. What else should I check/replace. 37+ YO amp

I need new power tubes for both of my VTM60’s. One has the original power tubes that started acting up last year so I stopped playing it. Just tried playing it a few minutes ago and one tube started going nuclear.
My other VTM60 that I put a new pair of JJ 6L6GC’s in 2022 started acting up today and blew a fuse. By acting up I mean when I take it off stand by it sounds staticy little or no sound comes through.
So I’m gonna order a new pair for each. In the past with my VTM s I just put the new pair in and checked the bias with my probe just to see what they are running at and if they are matched pretty close.
Well the amps are completely stock and close to 40 years old now. What should I replace?

Tbt that amp at 40 should get an overhaul by a good tech. Have them look for issues throughout visually and with a meter. Replace caps, probably screen grid resistors, maybe more, pots all cleaned well, maybe new jacks.

at 40 I would at least replace all the electrolytics .... screen grids isn't a bad idea either

Any and all electrolytic capacitors and any stiff wiring. Stiff wiring doesn’t flex and puts solder joints at risk of failure from vibration and transport.

I’d also replace any resistors out of tolerance.

When you're already in there and it's a cheap part that will ensure you don't fry your brand new powertubes, then why not go the extra inch.
