Actually scored this last week. It definitely lives up to the hype! It’s thick, raw, gnarly af, and it oozes with rich harmonics. It’s an SG, and I bought it from the original owner. It came with the original 415’s and Tungsrams. Not a combo guy, so I’ll have my buddy build me a custom headshell. I’ve been drooling over 2C+ clips for awhile now, but to hear it in person is quite the experience. It really IS all that. :thumbsup:

Congrats! My first was also a 60; they really have the best overall tone of all the different versions imo.

Congrats! The 2C+ is one of the best high gain amps ever. I’ve heard the ones without reverb sound even better. I myself am having my tech remove the reverb from my no stripe ++ Coli. Curious to see if I’ll hear an improvement. The reverb on those amps are awful anyway

Just use a small shorting plug ala Mike B...mine works without flaw, unless you prefer to waste $$$

Nice score. I’d like to try a IIC+ at some point in my life.

That’s what I hear. I’ve also heard that the non reverb ones also sound better. Check, check. :D
This is the first one I’ve heard in person, so I can’t compare. This one definitely sounds more open and organic than my Mark III++ and a Mark IV.

I’ve had it for a week and I totally agree, it’s a pretty remarkable amp. I’m gonna send it to Mesa for a full servicing, and probably the switchable ++ mod. I’m all in.

I had a C+ SRG that I sold to a friend who still has it. It really sounded great but of course I wanted a C++. I have first refusal if he sells it.

I’m not sure if the ++ is switchable on c++’s. I thought you can only switch between the 2 modes if it’s a modded Mark III?

So I gotta ask....what do you think of the feel?

I talked to Mike B. yesterday and he said it can go from + to ++ with a push/pull pot on the middle control.

C+ & C++ = Complete Greatest Amp Ever! . C+ & C++ switchable, better than any amp, especially Dumble.

Kinda apples and orange with c+ & Dumble, but I’ll just say that the Dumble I tried earlier this year was by far the best sound that ever entered my ear drums, but not a metal or hard rock amp, but no amp I’ve played comes close to what that amp did. NONE. Not gonna argue that it’s at all worth the price, but it’s an exceptional sound. It was admittedly underwhelming at low to moderate volumes, but then at volume was a religious experience for me. This is coming from someone who owns a C+ (and been through others) and considers it to be arguably the best high gain amp. I’ll never be able to afford a Dumble anyway unfortunately. Again apples vs oranges, but I don’t think anyone who’s actually played a good Dumble at volume will agree unless they’re strictly a metal player. Each Dumble is a little different, so I can only speak from experience with that one

Congrats man! I bet it absolutely rips :rock: The 79 MKIIB was the biggest sounding amp I ever had. It had the export tranny and loop mod and that amp could go from the thickest most beautifully compressed high gain to the most open, raw, thunderous tones ever. The Wizard is definitely punchier and more direct, but that MKII B had such a wide frequency response it was nutso.

Nice! Is that a vintage G12-65 in it? If so, bonus!

Regarding the head cab you will have built...consider having the front panel removable so that preamp tube access is much easier. It's really tight in there with a reverb tank but thankfully you don't have to worry about that.
