Buttons and switches . I’ll tell you tell you this . A lot of those buttons barely do shit. .even on my fav amps . Especially on the Engls . What the fuck lol

Especially the lady button on a third power amp. I don’t think it’s even wired to the circuit

I've watched the three demos of this amp a few times now. I understand that videos can be deceptive and there are a lot of variables, but it seems that this new XTC 104 presents as brighter and a bit more aggressive in a "metal" kind of way by comparison to the 101. Are you guys hearing this as well or is this wishful thinking (and hearing) on my part?

I have the 20th Anniversary XTC and really love it, I don’t see myself flipping it but it would be cool to check out the 104. I just don’t its that much different to justify. But I am looking to make a big dish for my Christmas present…damn.

Is the Pandora even an option anymore, or is it just a few one-offs? I had a 101A and loved it, but I would’ve liked it to be a little more modern/aggressive in the red channel — hence my interest in a Pandora. Or does the Bogner 104’s red channel get as pissed off as the Pandora? I’m sure this new amp rocks, but I don’t want to run into the same “problem” with the red-channel voicing.

Sorta kinda? It’s hard to tell.

I will say that the demos seem to keep the Modern switch engaged during most of the high gain tones, and Reinhold did mention in Reza’s video that turning that switch off was the way to get the traditional 101B-style Ecstasy voicings, so take that for what it’s worth I guess.

I always though the ecstasy sounded great in a heavy tone . Vai’s tone on bad horsie is amazing and heavy . Only time I heard Vai get a tone I liked . Though he’s my fav. Btw someone in here has the amp Vai used on that . Can’t remember who atm

I bought the two 100s A and B that he used on that record from his friend and producer Cliff Cultreri. I sold them a couple years later and there have been at least 6 owners since then. Cliff could tell you which amp was used on each song. I have been covering For The Love of God or Love of Dog for 25 years and the new Ecstasy does it better than any to date in my opinion.
