Glad to see someone else give love to the 2530. I used to own one that was formerly owned by Tim Pierce.

It was beat to hell with the tolex on the bottom completely scraped away, it was heavy as all hell; but by GOD was it the fullest cabinet I've ever heard.
I stupidly sold it to replace it with a newer pre-Fryette Fatbottom 4x12 with P-50Es. Completely incomparable, even when I replaced the speakers with the ones I used on the prior 2530.

I'm currently looking for another one

I feel you brother... I sold it last year... Punchy, tight and articulate as hell... The only reason I sold it was because I was never able to record sth decent with it... All clips (sm57 and other mics) sounded boomy even after EQing.

Remember: Steve made the P50E because Celestion changed the V30 by cutting corners to make it more profitable which negatively affected tone. This led Randall Smith to demand the original design which became the T4416 (16 ohm) and T4335 (8 ohm). Fryette also demanded the original quality, but this required purchasing a container full rather than a few pallets, so he partnered with Eminence to create the P50E, or a 16 ohm speaker that sounds similar to a V30/GB hybrid.

For OG Fryette tones, Mesa spec T4416 16 ohm V30's are the way. Pair that with Scumback's GB clone or whichever Celestion offering gets you where you want to be and you've got the magic. Proper cab without the proper speakers will not yield the magic result.

Also, Celestion changed the V30 earlier than March of 1993, so most 90's "UK" V30's are inferior. In my own experience with two '93 UK specimens, a pair of 2006 Mesa T4416 outperformed them, night and day better. Accept no substitutes!
