Smashed on drugs behind the controls of a plane you stole. That's not doing to end well.

The pilot could have actually killed her whenever he wanted and not just at that time when he obviously MISSED.

He did the maneuver beforehand so they guessed he would repeat it even if he said he wouldn't.

If anything went wrong my bet is Rhoads maybe freaked out that the pilot was going to kill them and tried to take the reigns. That could explain the 'fight' for the controls.

Anyway, you don't need a fight or freak out to explain it. Smashed out of his skull flying a plane explains plenty.

Just looked it up. The normal cruising speed for that type of plane is 200 MPH.
Anyone on the ground who says they could make out details of what might have
been happening in the cockpit was also pretty high.

At 200 MPH you'd cover the length of a football field in about a second.

I believe you. I was listening to this guy who used to be in the LA metal scene back in the day recount some experiences he had messing around with that dark stuff. He was in a band with that German singer, Mandy Lion. I think they were called Trick or Treat, or something like that. Guy telling the story was the guitarist. He said that they’d been together for a few weeks or days and things weren’t really clicking for them. They took a break at practice and he and the bass player tried this dark, satanic…thing or ritual. Kinda like a seance or something like it. Don’t know specifics. Don’t wanna know. He said that after they did that and came back from break, they wrote something like three songs back to back then and there. Things started to “click” after that, but that there was a dark presence surrounding them from that moment. Fast forward a few months and they were supposed to play this showcase gig for some record guys, and Lion didn’t show up. The band folded after that. Guitarist said that he ran into Lion years later and asked him why he bailed. Lion said that he couldn’t put his finger on it, but he felt there was dark, satanic stuff surrounding the band and it freaked him out. That was why he’d bailed on them. Interesting story, for sure.

Take of it what you will. I believe that stuff is real. Not to be messed with.

None of this is "dark forces" ..it is psychology. If "satan" becomes the anchor and allows you to get in the zone, then the result can be as inspiring as going to church on Sunday and thanking God for all your hardwork and .... "luck".

now this isn't to say there can't be good/bad vibes or things we can't explain, but you guys are literally talking about Crossroads and duelling with the devil. Fun thread though.

BTW, I have a cousin that flies small planes. I can guarantee you that if I asked him how he thinks things would go if he went on a bender the night before, snorted coke, and ignored all the rules around flying with some pals in the cockpit with him...he could describe one of a few outcomes that are very similar to what occured on that day. Had he come out of that low fly by buzz he might have nosed up steeply and stalled. With no height to recover, goodbye.
