Good points all around here. Who is to say what is right or wrong when it comes to scripture and who is to say what is evil or good? Perhaps this "deal with the devil" is merely an expression for decisions people made which hurt others but benefitted themselves. Seems to me looking at this in a black/white fashion is unrealistic because just about everything outside hard core science and physics lives in the "grey" area of interpretation, influence, social norms or scam artistry.
As for the fighting in the cockpit thing, that makes absolutely no sense. A non pilot fighting with the only guy who knows what he is doing. The only thing he could have done is tried to pull up but even that clearly didn't happen so fighting of that nature if anything would have caused the plane to pitch to a side or roll etc. Sounds more like revisionist wishful thinking by people who were psychologically affected by what they saw and think they saw.
I believe that many legends have some basis on past events. Human beings may simply be the result of genetic engineering by an advanced race. The 'battle for the control of heaven' may be descriptive of a war between rivaling factions. Let's assume for a moment that UFO sightings are somehow related to our existence. How technologically advanced are they? Advanced enough to avoid capture, that much is certain. Reports of power outages during UFO related events would indicate that they possess some sort of power dampening technology. I'm not fully onboard with claims of abduction, though I suppose they are easily capable.
We had a series of UFO sightings over Lake Erie back in the late 1960's. Myself, sister and two friends got an up-close look at one of their aerial vehicles while playing hide-n-go-seek. I estimate its position was about 800' to 1000' AGL. Very close! It moved to our location, hovered for brief period, then proceeded north to the shoreline, then east toward Sandusky. Other eyewitness accounts were being reported the following day. Some bizarre events were taking place around that time, though I don't think such tales would be appreciated here. The world is a fabulous place!
One time I tried to find an analogy that would work to put the entire known universe into perspective.
Took a shitload of trial and error and math.
A marble? No. A BB? No.
The closest I could come is a single grain of sand.
Next time outside find one and then try to imagine how many there are total within your general line of sight.
Now try to imagine how many are in your surrounding neighborhood.
The grain of sand is planet earth and the known universe is the entire Sahara Desert.
Ghosts and spirits and evil wishes/plans/intentions etc. are all based on tangible things
here on good ole planet earth.
Once you bring actual Gods and Devils into it you have to include the desert in the narrative.
At that point everyone is just dancing among the fairies to the tune of BS.
