I received my RJM mastermind and RG-16 yesterday.
Very easy to setup and program. I got also the Sig:X and Mark IV cable so I can control both amps.

I need to resolve some slight humming issues. I've had those before and they were power related.
I may have to use a power conditioner.

i have the rg16 and run two amps you might be getting the hum from one of the amps lift the ground on one amp, and it goes away, i just use one of the plugs you buy at lowes/home depot where it takes 3 prongs into two, or buy that ebtech ground lift thing for 70 bucks. my plug cost me a couple dollars.

How do you like the mastermind? Im going to pick one up for the rg16, as I am the lead singer and the g system is two big, too much shit, need to focus more on vox , let the other guitarist do the work, mastermind is smaller, have you tried the alternate preset thing with it? Ron is a kick ass guy and his stuff is the best bang for the buck, and simple to use!

Very nice Phil, been looking at the RG-16 myself!
Yup, decided to take the plunge. I have a gig coming up next month and I wanted to go simple right off the bat :)

I received it yesterday. I was able to program all my channels and effects using the Intellifex within 30 minutes.
I was not able to program the alternate settings. The cable works very well. Thankfully, the Mark IV and Sig:X are both
3 channel amps with simialr features except the Sig:X has a Boost function while the Mark IV has the EQ toggle.

As far as the hum, yeah, I have to try a few things such as the plug you are referring to.

I'll have more play time tonight.

Phil,

nice stuff but be carefull with your groundings when using the RG-16. I know some people had serious ground loops when using it. I also know that Paul Lenders had some issues with ground loops in a rig or 2 and RJM made some changes afterwards.

They make good stuff, their amp gizmo is very cool and the RG-16 is equally good. If I didn´t have a GCX, I´d probably get one myself.

how much for the master mind?

will it work with a Vh4 without external power?

Very cool, I will be picking one up this Saturday! :) I have some stuff I have to sell first or after. ;)

About $300.00
I'm not familiar enough with the VH4, is it midi controlled?
If yes, I can't see why you could not use it.

Hi Yoeri,
Hopefully, I have a unit with the latest fixes. I sold my GCX a year ago because it could not control my amp directly. Now with this, I'm set.
I'll take the time to fix the ground issue and if can't, I'll contact RJM.

Yeah, It´s a really cool all-in-1 unit. Any other rack units you are using?

A Rocktron Intellifex.
I have an RC Booster for the Mark IV R2 channel and an EQ.

I'm not sure if a Furman is justified at this point since they cost quite a bit of money > $250.00

I saw another model selling for $85.00 (PL series II). But I don't if they are good or not.

Hi there,

Shoot me an email if you'd like any help debugging the hum. If you're using both amps at once, you're likely to get a ground loop. An Ebtech HumX or Hum Eliminator will do the trick. If it's a single amp configuration, let me know and we'll work it out. There's always a solution - we just need to get the grounding straightened out.

If I get a midi-controlled amp, the Mastermind will be my footswitch of choice.

Thanks for the tip!
I need to check things out a bit more and see if I can isolate the problem a bit further.
I'll contact you if I can't resolve the problem.
