Man, I'm diggin' those! Depends on what the headstock looks like, but I really like the body design.

Same old headstock.

Cool, thanks!

I'm not sure the Classic Gibson headstock looks so great on those. The headstock from the Reverse Flying V would look right at home with the asymmetrical cut in the horns though...

Looks like the copied a Bartlett Retrospec and a Gene Baker Straight Line.

I'm wondering about that solid Johnny A looking thing with the parallelogram inlays...

They really dropped the ball here; needs robot tuners.

You and me both, friend. That thing looks cool!

They should make more like the Tak Matsumoto sig guitars

Gibson apparently lost the memo that their "modern" designs will sell. Their latest invention that is still for sale is the Firebird (early 60s). It seems every try at a new design fails to sell. People buy Gibson for their classic designs... period.

Kind of looks like the old Gibson MIII's from the 80's. Surprised they would go back in that direction. That guitar was a great player , but sold terribly for them. These arent as busy and dont have the terrible pick guards, but it is similar.
Same thought I had - the cutaways are the same lines.. This is the LP version of the M III

Must have hired the designer from EBMM.

:D

I like EBMM guitars, especially the Axis and Silhouette.

Probably you are referring to the Reflex, which look better then this new Gibson:

Different headstock, Floyd option and I'm in! Classic headstock doesn't look right...picture an explorer with the Les Paul headstock...yuck. Put the explorer headstock on the this new guitar and it would look pretty neat IMO.

Looks like a PRS and an EVH had a baby.

I was thinking EVH wolfie, but the PRS thing is funny.

That's probably not too far off the mark. Jim DeCola, who's the head luthier/designer at Gibson, was the head guitar guy at Peavey in the 1990's and he's the one that actually came up with the Wolfgang body shape, which EVH took with him to Fender.

I've seen this for a few days now and I guess I would give it a spin. I'm sure the price is beyond ridiculous though. I give them credit for trying something new

Pretty much my sentiment as well. It's nice to seem them trying something new rather than the 10,000th version of a LP.

Why is my question? Les Paul's, Flying Vs Firebird,Explorer, etc.. now we reallyneed to re invent the wheel? Gibson has a history of great designs, now the prs attempt obviously. I'd get it if they hadn't given us remarkable models we still love. Boring! I
