Well Cujo, youve changed all our minds about it... We had a little conference & decided, based on your arguments, that we now ADORE Godsmack, will see their shows & try to get backstage passes whenever possible.

From now on, if you hear some of us talk about hating AIC, AC/DC, Crue, or licking the singers sweaty ballsack in various other threads, just know that it was YOU who turned us!!

The difference between these two bands and Godsmack is in their demeanor. AC/DC to me is about enjoying life and having fun. Nothing too deep, but who cares. You listen to their music and you feel good; simple as that. Alice in Chains has a touch of that in some of their songs, but they're mostly - for me - about existence; Dirt is one of my favorite albums, and has amazing guitar work, vocals, lyrics, everything.

Godsmack? I listened to them when I was in middle school, and it seems like they're all about hating people and hate in general. I'm sorry, but if you're in your 40s and that's all you've managed to write about - if your new single is about hating some guy for badmouthing you - then in my eyes you deserve no respect. Obviously people like their music, and that's fine, but the purpose of this thread was to hear people's opinions. Well, it is my opinion that their music has no depth emotionally, lyrically, or musically, and I'll be amazed if they are able to sell half the amount of records this time around as they did in the late 90s, when they were slightly more believable.

I hate everyone, so their music appeals to me.

Its powerful riffs and soul-full voice. Its good shit..... better than 80% of the shit out there.
